Alice Ann Staab

Alice Ann Maria Staab, 79 year old resident of St. Cloud, MN formerly of Little Falls, MN passed away Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at St. Benedict’s Senior Community in St. Cloud, MN. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Belle Prairie with Father Jeremy Ploof officiating. Burial will take place in the Holy Family Parish Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 10-11 A.M. on Saturday at Holy Family Church. Alice Ann was born on August 10, 1935 in Sleepy Eye, MN to the late Norbert and Lucella (Fecker) Pietrus. She grew up in Sleepy Eye, MN where she attended and graduated from St. Mary’s Catholic School in Sleepy Eye. Upon graduation Ann taught special needs children at Sister Anne Maria School in St. Paul, MN. Ann was united in marriage to Richard Staab on December 27, 1958 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye, MN. The couple made their home in Belle Plaine, MN for a time and later moved to Little Falls, MN in 1975 and most recently had been living in St. Cloud, MN since 1990. Ann lived a very active life volunteering at the Hospital, delivering meals on wheels, and loved teaching CCD. She loved socializing with her friends and family. Ann enjoyed playing and teaching people how to play bridge as well as playing 500 and cribbage. Most importantly, her children where her top priority, she was always involved in their lives and always showed them great love and support. Ann was an awesome wife, and was devoted to her family. She will forever be remembered for her wonderful sense of humor, her kind and caring spirit, and her ability to listen to others. Ann was greatly loved and will be dearly missed. Ann is survived by loving husband of 56 years, Richard Staab of St. Cloud, MN; children, John (Janell) Staab of Little Falls, MN, Katie (Don) Calhoun of Cold Spring, MN, Michael (Debbie) Staab of Ankeny, IA, and Christopher (Julie) Staab of Marshall, MI; sister, Jeanne (Mike) Schmid of CO; 13 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Ann was preceded in death by parents, Norbert and Lucella Pietrus.
