Alvin W. Lattimer

Alvin W. Lattimer, a 77-year-old resident of Little Falls, MN passed away Thursday, March 10, 2016, at the St. Otto’s Care Center in Little Falls. A Funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, March 21, 2016 at the St. Otto's Chapel in Little Falls, MN with Rev. Bob Trinklin officiating. A visitation will be one hour prior to service at the St. Otto's Chapel. Alvin was the youngest child born on October 16, 1938, to the late Willis and Marie Lattimer. His older siblings were, Glen, Donny, and Cora Mae. Alvin lived most of his life in Randall, Minnesota. Alvin graduated from Little Falls High School and served in the National Guards. He completed a course at Dunwoody for Blueprint reading, which helped him as a cement finisher, then as a foreman in Minneapolis for many years. Alvin and Carol married and had two girls, Dawn and Danell, before Carol passed away. He then married Linda in 1976, and adopted her two children Sherry Ann and Michael. Alvin later worked for Tri-City Paving and then Chi Roe as a Maintenance Man. He loved working with wood and together with Linda, sold their crafts at craft shows for 12 years. He never got tired of making a new product and watching it sell. He had an awesome smile and twinkle in his eyes, and an easy way of talking to anyone. Little children melted his heart and he shared many fishing and camping hours with his grandchildren. He was a hard worker and did everything he attempted to the very best that he could. Illness took it’ toll on him, but he never gave up and kept that smile and sense of humor. Shepherd of the Pines Church in Rice became a great part of his life in helping him believe in God. Alvin was grateful to all who came to see him with their love and support and comfort. The nurses at St. Otto’s Care Center became like family to him and made his days brighter. Someday he will be greeting us with an even bigger smile when we meet with him again. Until then, he will be sadly missed by all his family and friends. Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of 39 years Linda; daughters, Dawn (Neil Rakow) and their children, Corey, Larissa (Nathen) LeBlanc, and Terrence; great-grandchildren, Philo, Vincent, and Caley Rose, children of Corey; and Hunter, Jake, and Layla Dawn, children to Larissa and Nathen; daughter, Danell Lattimer, and her children, Jason (Carrie) Osvold, and Kevin Osvold; daughter, Sherry Ann Scofield, and her children, Joshua, Kaisha, Nathanial (Brittney), and Caleb; great-grandchildren, Garret, child of Joshua; and Spencer, child of Nathanial and Brittney; Son, Michael (Dawn) Lattimer, their children, Clarissa, Brandon, Maddison, Cameron, and Lance; great-grandchildren, Liam Steven, child of Clarissa and Jake; and Skylar, child of Brandon and Angela; brother, Donald (Dianne) Lattimer of Willmar, MN and sister, Cora Mae Skeesick of Minneapolis, MN. Alvin was preceded in death by his parents, Willis and Marie Lattimer; first wife, Carol; Glen Lattimer; granddaughter, Kirsten Rakow; and son-in-law, Donald Scofield.
