Anne Hallberg

Anne Hallberg, 85 year old resident of Little Falls, MN passed away Sunday, May 29, 2016 at St. Otto’s Care Center in Little Falls. A Funeral Service will be held at 10 AM on Monday, June 6, 2016 at Bethel Lutheran Church in Little Falls with Pastor Jean Megorden officiating. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery in Little Falls. Visitation will be from 4 PM to 7 PM on Sunday at Shelley Funeral Chapel in Little Falls, and from 9 AM to 10 AM on Monday at the church. Anne was born on December 3, 1930 in Adrian, Nobles County, MN to Venno and Florence (Reiter) Werkman. She attended school in Rushmore, MN until her family moved to a farm in the Fort Ripley area in 1943. Anne attended Independent School District #16. After completing school, she worked at Munsingware in Little Falls. Anne was united in marriage to Morris Reinhold Hallberg on March 31, 1952 at First Congregational Church in Little Falls. The couple dairy farmed Northeast of Little Falls until Morris retired in 1985. They raised six children and were members of Bethel Lutheran Church in Little Falls. Anne was an active member of Bethel serving as a Sunday School teacher, quilting chair, and Altar Guild member. Anne received the Key 4-H Leader Award, was a member of TOPS #307 and the Little Falls Dandee Lions. Anne worked part time at the Sanitary Bakery and then at the Morrison County Jail for 17 years as a cook until she retired in 1997. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, quilting, reading, and traveling. Anne suffered a stroke in October of 2014 and was later diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Anne is survived by her children; Lynda (Jerry) Lochner, John Hallberg, Carl (Tanya) Hallberg, Faye (George) Sandy, all of Little Falls, MN, Daniel (Rae Ann) Hallberg of Rogers, MN, and Janelle (Russ) Jacobsen of Blue Earth, MN; 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; brothers, Larry, Floyd and Herman Werkman and sisters, Verna Mae Reck and Lavonne Adams; and many nieces and nephews. She was proceeded in death by her parents; husband Morris; daughter-in-law, Elaine Hallberg; brothers, Eldon, Frank, and Donald Werkman; and sisters, Georgia Lange and Darlene Okroi.
