Annie Bjornson

Annie Bjornson, 96 year old resident of Wahkon, MN passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at the Mille Lacs Long Term Care Center in Onamia, MN. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 30, 2013 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Wahkon with Father Greg Poser, osc officiating. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to Mass at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Wahkon, MN. Arrangements are with the Shelley Funeral Chapel of Onamia. Annie was born January 21, 1917 in Langdon Township, Cavalier County, North Dakota. Annie was the daughter of John G. and Elizabeth (Klebovich) Kram. She attended rural school at Langdon. Annie married Hugh Bjornson July 24, 1939. Annie and Hugh farmed in the Walhalla, Dresden, and Edmore communities in North Dakota before moving to a farm near Isle, Minnesota and later to the city of Wahkon. Annie was a great gardener and loved working in the garden and with her flowers. She was active in the Kitchen Band, Wahkon Civic Board, and Wahkon Senior Dining. She enjoyed her kitchen chores of cooking, baking, and canning. Sewing and crocheting were not only dear to her; the work she did for others also earned her a community seamstress title. She enjoyed the activities in her community and was a friend to many. Annie is survived by daughters Thomasien (Robert) Hodgson, Wales, ND; Martha Bjornson, Onamia, MN; Gloria (LeRoy) Iverson, Penguilly, MN; Viola Wensmann, Bolivar, MO; Ronda Bjornson-Main, Wahkon, MN; Daughter-in-law Gloria (Bjornson) Fischer, Wahkon, MN; Sons Jacob (JoAnne) Bjornson, Ashville, AL; Robert (Norma) Bjornson, Fort Ripley, MN; Bjorn (Barb) Bjornson, Otsego, MN; Dale (Christine) Bjornson, Wahkon, MN, and brother Jerry (Lorraine) Kram, Evansville, MN. Annie’s extended family included 33 grand children, 49 great grand children, and 18 great great grand children. Annie was proceeded in death by her parents; husband Hugh, son Thomas, sons-in-law Don Wensmann and Freddie Main; granddaughter Ledean Tienter, great granddaughter Chrissy Waddill; sisters Kate Leicht, Liz Osborne, and Mary Danielson; brothers Walter, Joe, Phil, Louis, John, Ed, and Frank Kram. Annie’s last five years have been under the good care of the professionals at Mille Lacs Health System Long Term Care.
