Blanche T. Schultz

Blanche T. Schultz, 91 year old resident of Little Falls, MN formerly of Swanville, MN passed away Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at Bridgeway Estates in Little Falls, MN. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, September 23, 2011 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Swanville with Rev. David Packo and Rev. Steve Priola officiating. Burial will be at Springbrook Cemetery in Swanville, MN. Friends may call from 4 to 8 PM on Thursday at the Swanville Bible Church and 1 hour prior to the service on Friday at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church. Funeral arrangements are with the Shelley-Gibson Funeral Chapel in Swanville, MN. Blanche T. Schultz was born on September 12, 1920 in Maurice, Iowa to the late John & Nellie (Brink) Van Peursem. She was baptized in the First Reformed Church of Maurice. Blanche attended school in Maurice, IA until 1932 when her parents moved to Merrill, IA. She graduated from Merrill High School when she was 16 years old. Blanche then attended NBT Business College in Sioux City, IA. On September 17, 1939 she was united in marriage to Ivan Schultz in Spencer, IA. They farmed near Le Mars, IA until 1950 when they purchased a dairy farm near Swanville, MN and she most recently resided in Little Falls at Bridgeway Estates. She was a member of Swanville Bible Church where she served as Sunday School and Bible School teacher and deaconess. She also belonged to Prairie Point Quilters for many years. Besides being a homemaker Blanche worked off and on doing office work, most recently at Hart Press in Long Prairie and Morrison County Public Health. Blanche especially liked feeding birds and watching sports. She most of all loved her family and making them quilts and birthday cakes. Blanche is survived by sons, Ronald (Jeanne) of Merrill, IA, Daniel (Lynn) of Center City, MN, John (Sandee) of Cambridge, MN, Timothy of St. Paul, MN, and Charlie (Jill) of Swanville, MN; daughter, Cynthia “Cindy” (Dennis “Pete”) Kircher of Burtrum, MN; daughter-in-law, LaVern (LeRoy) Nelson of Rush City, MN; 18 grandchildren, Jodi (Mike) Van Leeuwen, Tami (Kyle) Mullenix, Brenda (Dennis) Valentyn, Toni (Josh) Kraska, Lisa (Curt) Riley, Tom (Heather), Keith, Nate (Kristine), & Shelly Kircher, Dean (Trina), Aaron, Jason, Jeffery (Mary), Nicole, Whitney, Benjamin, Abbey, & Grace Schultz; 18 great-grandchildren, Anna, Luke, Katelyn, Carter, Tyler, Michael, Jessica, Joshua, Isabelle, Jaemon, Jimmy, Patrick, Natalie, Julia, Daniel, Bradyn, Paige, & Ivan; brother, Russell Van Peursem of Orange City, IA; sister, Aimee Joyce Heusinkveld of Melbourne Beach, FL.
