Catherine A. Lamp

Catherine A. Lamp, 77 year old resident of Little Falls, MN passed away Monday, December 11, 2017 at her home surrounded by family. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, December 19, 2017, at Shelley Funeral Chapel in Little Falls, MN with Father Joe Herzing officiating. Burial will take place at the Oakland Cemetery in Little Falls, MN. Visitation at Shelley Funeral Chapel from 4 to 8 PM on Monday and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the Shelley Funeral Chapel. Catherine was born on May 25, 1940 to Frank and Kathryn (Asmussen) Seelen in Little Falls, MN. She was united in marriage to Leonard Lamp on April 27, 1957. Together they had four children, Deb, Gene (Geno), Cindy and Nick. They were divorced in 1977. Catherine then was united in marriage to Donald O. Okerman in 1978, they remained together for the rest of her lifetime. Catherine worked at the Sanitary Bakery, Munsingwear, Larson Boats, Crestliner, Post Office in Cushing, MN, Home Healthcare and then she was the “BOSS” at Falls Distribution until she retired in 2012. Catherine was a woman of great faith and Christianity. She would often help others with her generosity and welcoming personality. She enjoyed gardening (especially working in her many flower gardens), going to the Casino with Don and her sisters, daily telephone conversations with her siblings and she truly enjoyed baking treats (especially Christmas cookies with her grandchildren) of all kinds to share with the many people who loved her. Her life will forever be cherished and remembered through the lives of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Catherine is survived by her loving husband, Donald Okerman, children Deb (Ray) VanHercke, Gene Lamp, Cindy Lamp, Nick Lamp (Kelly Yetzer), grandchildren, Ray (Tracy) Vanhercke III, Jesse Vadnais (Ashley Lashinski), Destiny Vadnais (Josh Bobick), Jon VanHercke (Sarah Schwanke), Dakota VanHercke, Tonya (Mike) Reynolds, Zach Grunst (Shannon Page), Lucas Grunst (Amanda Storkamp), Stephanie Grunst, Brianna Grunst (Kurt Kliber), Nicholas Lamp, II, Logan Lamp, Jolene LeBlanc, great-grandchildren, Alea Reynolds, Ian Reynolds, Isaiah Reynolds, Aidan VanHercke, Jayden Vadnais, Sophie Grunst, and Tabatha Grunst, Jayde VanHercke, Jocelyn, Jetta, Mason Lamp and many nieces and nephews. Catherine was preceded in death by her grandson, Jason Lamp, parents, Frank and Kathryn Seelen, infant brothers, Mathew and Francis, mother-in-law, Betty Okerman, brothers, Arnold and wife Josephine Seelen, Francis (Shorty) and wife Helen Seelen, Lloyd Seelen, Herbert Seelen, sisters, Marge and husband Al Mengelkoch, Helen and husband Mark Stein, Delores Kafka and Cecelia Dolney, sister-in-law Rosalie Seelen; brothers-in-law, Jerry Hiemenz and Philip Dolney and nieces and nephews
