Charlotte Kresal

Charlotte Kresal, 78-year-old resident of Onamia, MN passed away on October 31, 2016 at the Mille Lacs Long Term Care Center in Onamia, MN. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 5, 2016, at the Holy Cross Center in Onamia, MN. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to service at Holy Cross Center. Interment will be in Foster Cemetery. Arrangements are with the Shelley Funeral Chapel of Onamia. Charlotte was born on May 21, 1938 in Graceville, Minnesota to Arthur and Alma Grant (Bergman). The family moved to Milaca. On Feb 26, 1955 Charlotte married Duane DeWitt. They lived in North Carolina for a while when they were first married, then Mora, Rochester, New Brighton, and Isanti. They were blessed with 4 Children. Charlotte will always be remembered for her devotion to her children, quick wittedness, love for her pets, and her grace. She enjoyed the crazy antics of her beloved grandchildren and would often join in. Charlotte loved flowers and read as many books as she could throughout her life. Charlotte volunteered with the Historical Society and was a volunteer facilitator for the Wilder Foundation. Charlotte and Jerry were united in marriage on July 5, 1985 near Princeton, MN. In 2000, Jerry and Char moved from Princeton to their new home on Mille Lacs Lake. Charlotte and Jerry enjoyed dancing and made a striking couple on the dance floor. Her best memories are spending time on Mille Lacs Lake, with her family, especially all of her children and grandchildren. Left to cherish her memory are her children: sons, Brian DeWitt of Onamia, MN; Andrew (Ashley) Kresal of Onamia, MN, daughters, Suzan Beckman of Braham, MN, Julie DeWitt of Onamia, MN, Shari Cole of Chatfield, MN; Angela (Troy) Pederson of Alexandria, MN, 15 grandchildren, Desiree, Brian, Jennifer, Brandon, Aaron, Natasha, Levi, Gia, Brianna, Kyle, Ethan, Miranda, Sam, Kruz, Klyd; 11 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandson. Charlotte was preceded in death by her husband Jerry, parents, Arthur and Alma, sisters June and Mary, and infant Jeanne Marie. Charlotte was reunited with them when she lost her battle with cancer on Oct 31, 2016 at the Onamia nursing home.
