Clara H. Brausen, 68 year old resident of Hillman, MN passed away Friday, September 28, 2012 at her home in Hillman, MN. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at St. Rita’s Catholic Church in Hillman, MN with Father Greg Poser officiating. Friends may call from 4-8 P.M. on Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at the Shelley-Virnig Funeral Chapel in Pierz, MN and from 10-11 A.M. on Wednesday at the Church. Christian Mother’s Rosary will be at 4:30 P.M. and Parish Prayers at 7:30 P.M on Tuesday at the Shelley-Virnig Funeral Chapel in Pierz, MN. Funeral arrangements are with the Shelley-Virnig Funeral Chapel in Pierz, MN. Clara was born on November 2, 1943 in Pierz, MN to the late William and Regina (Tretter) Hoffman. She grew up in Pierz, MN where she attended school at St. Joseph’s Catholic School and graduated from Father Pierz Memorial High School. Clara was united in marriage to Leander Brausen on February 23, 1963 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Pierz, MN. The couple began their life together in Minneapolis, MN and later moved back to Hillman, MN in 1965. They have resided in Hillman for many year which is where they farmed and raised their family. Clara enjoyed playing cards, taking care of her flowers, and most of all spoiling her children and grandchildren. The love of her life was her children and her farm in Hillman. Clara will forever be remembered for her famous lemon pie with the best crust and her willingness to help anybody that was in need. She was a mother that would go with out, so her children would have what they needed. Clara was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. Clara is survived by husband, Leander Brausen of Hillman, MN; children, Leander ‘Shorty’ Brausen of Hillman, MN, Rocky & Jamie Hoheisel of Hillman, MN, Sandy Brausen of Hillman, MN, and Tammy & Carly Kieffer of Hillman, MN; brothers, Gerald (Lorraine) Hoffman of Royalton, MN and Bobby (Theresa) Hoffman of Pierz, MN; sister, Annella (Clarence) Blonigen of St. Martin, MN; grandchildren, Krystal & Everett Davis of Fergus Falls, MN, Zachery (Kaylie) & Brock (Kendra) Kieffer of Hillman, MN; yaya’s special children, Brandon Winscher and Charlie Okroi; godchildren, Krystal Davis and Kevin Blonigen; and special dog, Scooter. Clara was preceded in death by parents, William & Regina Hoffman; brothers, Ted Hoffman, Richard Hoffman, & baby brother; mother and father-in-law, Joseph & Helen Brausen; and 3 special angels.
