Clement "Clem" Fietek

Clement “Clem” Fietek, 96 year old resident of Little Falls, MN passed away Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at the Little Falls Care Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 A.M. on Monday, February 23, 2015 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Little Falls, MN with Father Jeremy Ploof officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Parish Cemetery in Little Falls, MN. Military Rites will be conducted by the Little Falls American Legion Post #46 and VFW Post #1112. Visitation will be held from 5-8 P.M. on Sunday at the Shelley Funeral Chapel in Little Falls and from 10 -11 A.M. on Monday at the funeral chapel. Parish Prayers will be at 5:30 PM on Sunday at the funeral chapel. Clement (Clem) Fietek was born July 24, 1918 to the late Leo and Anna (Rutz) Fietek. He was raised on a farm in Culdrum Township. He attended Country School District 91. He married Mary Johannes on October 15, 1940 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Flensburg, MN. He enlisted into U.S.A.A.C in July 1942. He served in Britain on 731st Bomb Squadron, 452 Bomb Group, AP0559 until the end of WWII. He was honorably discharged in September 1945. He then worked at Sheety Gas Station for a few years. He went to work for the Morrison County Co-op from 1949 until 1957. He was transferred to Minneapolis working for Midland Co-op where he worked as a truck driver delivering freight to their outlets until retiring in 1980. Clem was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, The American Legion, VFW and Loyal Order of Moose. He volunteered a lot of his time to these organizations in various capacities including cooking for events and running their bingo programs. He was the gambling manager for the Moose Lodge for several years. Clem enjoyed fishing, playing cribbage and going to the casino. Clem survived by his five children and their spouses, Clarence “C J” (Denise) Fietek, Anna (Mark) Tykwinski, Leon (Susie) Fietek, Joann (Richard) Rakow and Greg (Ginger) Fietek; 18 Grandchildren; 31 Great Grandchildren and 8 Great-Great Grandchildren. Clem was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary on June 26, 1984; 5 brothers and 3 sisters, .Honorary Pallbearers will be all of Clem’s grandchildren. Active Pallbearers will be Doug Striker, Matt Hayden, Wade Perry, Luke Suchy, Nathan Stott and Eric Svor.
