Cordelia Prokott

Cordelia Prokott, 98-year-old resident of Lino Lakes, MN formerly of Bowlus, MN passed away Sunday, June 18, 2017, in Lino Lakes, MN. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, June 21, 2017, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Bowlus, MN with Father Greg Mastey officiating. Burial will take place in the St. Stanislaus Parish Cemetery in Bowlus, MN. A visitation will be held from 10-11 A.M. on Wednesday at the Church in Bowlus, MN. Arrangements are with the Shelley Funeral Chapel in Little Falls, MN. Cordelia Bertha Kalis was born on July 10, 1918 in Royalton, MN to the late Frank and Anna (Schlicting) Kalis. She grew up in Royalton and attended Country School through the 8th grade. Cordelia was united in marriage to Thomas Prokott on September 30, 1941 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Royalton, MN. In 1964 they moved to the family farm where they raised their 10 children and farmed for many years. Cordelia worked alongside her husband farming and helping out where ever needed on the farm. Her favorite task to do on the farm was cutting the grass and cooking for her family. Cordelia was an excellent baker and cook, always sharing her homemade coffee cakes and loaves of bread with her family. She was also an excellent sewer, making many sets of clothes throughout the years. Cordelia also enjoyed bird watching, spending time out in nature and being with her children, grandchildren, and grand puppies. She was a lifelong member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Bowlus, MN where she was a member of the Christian Mother’s Rosary Society and assisted with many funeral lunches over the years. Cordelia was always a very faithful attendee of Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. Cordelia is survived by her children; James (Joan) Prokott of Maple Grove, MN, Donald (Sharon) Prokott of Coon Rapids, MN, Richard Prokott of Albertville, MN, David (Mary) Prokott of Brooklyn Park, MN, Mary Lauinger of Coon Rapids, MN, Jeanette (Raymond) Schelonka of Moundsview, MN, Diona (Richard) Wochnick of Ramsey, MN, Leonette (David) Westlund of Lino Lakes, MN; 21 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. Cordelia is preceded in death by her parents; Frank and Anna (Schlicting) Kalis; husband, Thomas; sons, Duane and Aloysius; and brothers and sisters.
