David Larsen

** Floral Web Store Is Not Available. To Order, Please Call (320)532-4132 ** David Alan Larsen, 69, passed away peacefully on April 5, 2024, at Mille Lacs Health System Long Term Care Center. A celebration of his life will be on April 28, at the Holy Cross Center* in Onamia from 11:00- 2:00. There will be a short service at 11:30. *Note venue change. David was born March 7, 1955, in Litchfield, MN, to Lois and Charles Larsen. David enjoyed growing up in a small town and a successful athletic career at Grove City High School. He had a close-knit group of friends that remained constant in his life. He married in 1980 and later had two children, Justin and Jenna, and started his family life in Watson, MN, then eventually, Lino Lakes, MN. In 1995, he married Jamie Root, and they made their home in Onamia. Together, they added a son, Josh, to their family. David made his living creating relationships in sales. His career included sales for Matco Tools, Grainger, and Dacotah Paper. David enjoyed archery hunting, muskie fishing, spending time with family and friends, games of chance, and was a very talented woodworker. He and Jamie did most all the finishing work on their Onamia home where they have lived for nearly thirty years. David had many life-long friends and made many more along the way in his travels. He was generous, caring, humorous and extremely proud of his family. He lived to see the addition of four grandchildren whom he loved dearly as well. David’s last nine years of life brought many physical challenges and disabilities. He came to live in the Mille Lacs Long Term Care Center in September of 2022. Ultimately, in his latest health crisis, David chose to trade in his wheelchair for wings. David’s quick wit and fun nature will forever make us smile. May his gentle soul rest now. David is survived by his wife, Jamie Root-Larsen of Onamia, MN; mother, Lois (Larsen) Guenette, Sartell, MN; son Justin (Christine) of Milaca, MN; daughter Jenna (Adam) Weber of Victoria, MN; son Josh Larsen (friend Mackenzie) of Shakopee, MN; brothers Dwight Larsen of Surprise, AZ; Daniel (Randa) Larsen of Atwater, MN; sister-in-law Dani Larsen; grandchildren Angelina, Charlie, Sam and Ava; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Charlie; step-father, Michael Guenette; mother and father-in-law, Pudge and Jim Root.
