Dolores Houle , 87 year old resident of Little Falls, MN passed away Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at the St. Cloud Hospital in Little Falls, MN. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Little Falls, MN with Father Jeremy Ploof officiating. Burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery in Little Falls, MN. A visitation will be held from 4-7 P.M on Friday and from 9-10 A.M. on Saturday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Little Falls, MN. A Christian Mothers rosary will be prayed at 4:00 P.M. and Parish prayers will be said at 5:00 P.M. on Friday at the Church. Funeral arrangements are with the Shelley Funeral Chapel in Little Falls, MN. Dolores was born on July 26, 1927 in Little Falls, MN to the late Lawrence and Ann (LaJesse) Colombe. Dolores worked for many years as the head cook at Lindbergh Elementary School in Little Falls, MN. Dolores was a devout Catholic and was involved in various women’s ministries. She was united in marriage to Lawrence “Larry” Houle on February 5, 1946 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Little Falls, MN. They celebrated 66 years of marriage together before Larry passed away in 2012. Together they raised 7 children, who benefited from their love and support. The Houle family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude for the extraordinary care she received from the staff at St. Otto’s Care Center. Dolores continuously remarked on the excellent quality of care she received. She thoroughly enjoyed her home at St. Otto’s. Dolores is survived by sons, Ron (Dar) Houle of Merrifield, MN, Tom (Pat) Houle of Springfield, MO, Rick Houle of Little Falls, MN, and Tim (Kelly) Houle of Little Falls, MN; daughters, Trish Gripp of Brainerd, MN, Deb Hanghian (Dennis Jasper) of Bettendorf, IA, and Becky Houle (Don Erkens) of Sartell, MN; sisters, Shirley Ragland of Prescott, AZ, Laverne Laubach of Rice, MN, and Barb Corner of Staples, MN; 23 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. Dolores was preceded in death by parents, Lawrence and Ann Colombe; husband Larry Houle; and brothers, Ernie and Clifford Colombe.
