Donald "Don" J. Waldvogel, 91 year old resident of Little Falls, MN, passed away Friday, August 14, 2026, at his home. A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 21, 2026, at the LeMieur Funeral Home in Little Falls, at 11:00 A.M., with Pastor Brandon Johnson officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 A.M., prior to the service on Friday. Burial will be held in Oakland Cemetery in Little Falls. Caring for Don and his family is the LeMieur Funeral Home in Little Falls. Donald “Don” Waldvogel was born on August 2, 1935, to the late Paul and Frances (Lenarz) Waldvogel in to a family of 7 brothers and 3 sisters. He grew up and lived in Little Falls, MN, his entire life. Don attended St. Mary’s School and was an altar boy. He then attended Little Falls Community Schools where he was active in Golden Glove Boxing. Don began working at Larson’s Water Craft, and retired from the boating industry in 1993. He was united in marriage to Bernice Holz in 1972, his “Little Honey” in Little Falls. They enjoyed fishing, traveling, dancing, and country western music. Don was active in softball, bowling, and horse shoe league. He loved hunting and fishing when he was younger. Don was a member of the Minnesota Fishing Museum, and fishing hall of fame in Hayward, Wisconsin, and donated his old tackle and fishing memorabilia. He loved to tinker in his workshop; making bird houses and lawn ornaments, and giving most of them away to friends and family. Don would hand out candy suckers to all the little kiddos to see their eyes light up. He would tell cute little jokes to anyone who would listen to make people laugh. Don loved birds and squirrels visiting his backyard. He was a Vikings, Twins, and Timberwolves fan and would watch as many games as he could. Don could play the piano, accordion, and harmonica for his own enjoyment. Don loved and took great importance spending time with his family, especially his grandsons Hunter and Liam. He loved to coffee klutch with friends and families. Don will surely be missed by all who knew him. We find peace that he’s now telling his jokes in heaven. Don is survived by his wife, Bernice Waldvogel; son Ross (Theresa) Waldvogel; brothers, Lawrence (Gloria) Waldvogel, and Robert (Carol) Waldvogel; grandsons, Hunter and Liam; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Raymond, Paul Jr., Sylvester, James, Jerome, Alice, Betty, and Mary.
