Edward “Ed” J. Rudnicki, 66 year old resident of Opole, MN passed away Thursday, July 11, 2019 at the St. Cloud Hospital. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, July 15, 2019 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Opole, MN with Father Gene Doyle officiating. Burial will take place in the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish Cemetery in Opole, MN. A visitation will be from 4-7 P.M. on Sunday, July 14, 2019 at the Shelley Funeral Chapel in Little Falls, MN and from 9:30-10:30 A.M. on Monday at the Church in Opole, MN. Parish prayers will be prayed at 4:00 P.M. on Sunday at the Shelley Funeral Chapel in Little Falls, MN. Funeral arrangements are with the Shelley Funeral Chapel in Little Falls, MN. Edward Joseph Rudnicki was born on March 25, 1953 in St. Cloud, MN to Emily (Skroch) and the late Stanley Rudnicki. He grew up in St. Wendel, MN and graduated from Holdingford High School with the Class of 1971. He then completed mechanics courses at St. Cloud Technical College and began working as a Hyster forklift mechanic for Nott Company as well as other repair services. Ed was united in marriage to Deborah Peterson on May 24, 1975 at Zion Lutheran Church in Little Falls, MN. The couple settled in Opole, MN on a small farm where they raised beef cattle and farmed a corn and hay crop. He enjoyed working on his own machinery as well as helping others with their machinery repairs. Ed taught himself machining skills and developed his own devices to assist when problems arose. He enjoyed the company of his family and friends at his shop. Ed will always be remembered for his gifted mechanic skills and his willingness to help or share his experiences as well as providing a needed repair part to a fellow friend or neighbor. Ed is survived by loving wife Deborah Rudnicki of Opole, MN; mother, Emily Rudnicki of St. Wendel, MN; children, Corey (Annette) Rudnicki of Blackduck, MN and Brandon (Amanda) Rudnicki of Holdingford, MN; grandchildren, Benjamin, Izabelle, Claire, and Grace; brothers, Daniel (significant other Phyllis) Rudnicki of Holdingford, MN, Ernest (Ann) Rudnicki of St. Wendel, MN and Roger (Laurie) Rudnicki of Avon, MN; sisters, Alvina (Alfred) VanDrehle of Spring Hill, MN, Janice (David) Fiedler of St. Stephen, MN and Doreen (John) Czech of Oak Park, MN. Ed was preceded in death by his father, Stanley Rudnicki.
