Elaine Hallberg

Elaine A. Hallberg, 46 year old resident of Little Falls, MN passed away Tuesday, November 18, 2008 at her home in Little Falls. With strong faith, Elaine courageously battled cancer with her husband Carl at her side. A celebration of Life Service will be at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday (Nov. 22) at Bethel Lutheran Church in Little Falls, with Pastor Blaine MacNeil officiating. Burial will take place at Oakland Cemetery in Little Falls. Friends may call from 4 to 8 P.M. on Friday at Bethel Lutheran Church in Little Falls and from 9 to 10 A.M. on Saturday at the Church. Elaine Ann (Kallis) Hallberg was born October 18, 1962 at St. Gabriel’s Hospital in Little Falls, MN to Richard and Lorraine (Renner) Kallis of Little Falls, MN. She graduated from Little Falls Community High School in 1981. Elaine was united in marriage to Carl Hallberg on June 27th, 1981. The couple lived east of Little Falls on a dairy farm. She also worked at Pete & Joy’s Bakery and most recently as a cashier at Coborn’s Superstore in Little Falls. She attended Central Lakes College in Brainerd. Elaine enjoyed her family and friends most. She was a basketball, baseball, and football mom. She dearly loved her granddaughter, Annaleise. Elaine also loved snowmobiling, cooking, gardening, cake decorating and her cats. She was an accomplished seamstress making many baptismal gowns, bridesmaids and wedding dresses, church banners and quilts. She was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Little Falls where she served as a wedding coordinator for several years. Elaine is survived by her husband Carl L. Hallberg; mother Lorraine (Renner) Kallis of Little Falls, MN; daughters, Alissa (Joshua) Erdrich of Royalton, MN, Emily Hallberg of Brainerd, MN; sons, Aaron and Adam Hallberg at home; granddaughter Annaleise Erdrich; brothers, Duane (Bridget) Kallis of Richfield, MN, Tom (Cheryl) Kallis of Silver Lake, MN, Joe (Faye) Kallis of Randall, MN, and John (Kathleen) Kallis of Lake Branson, MN; sisters, Mary Jo Hurrle of North Branch, MN, Cindy (Duane) Witucki of Little Falls, MN, Janel (Jim) Sczublewski of Royalton, MN, and Terri (Eric) Spencer of Wadena, MN; along with many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. Elaine was preceded in death by her father, Richard Kallis, and nephew, Douglas Kallis. Pallbearers will be Harold (Hap) Johnson, John Hallberg, Jay Robinson, Herb Tabatt, Dennis Heise, Jerome Valentine, Mark Lundeen, and Terry Froelich.
