Elizabeth A. Piekarski, 91-year old resident of Little Falls, MN passed away on Thursday, February 4, 2016 at St. Otto’s Care Center in Little Falls, MN, surrounded by her family. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 A.M. on Thursday, February 11, 2016 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Little Falls, MN with Father Jeremy Ploof officiating. A visitation will be held from 4 to 8 P.M. on Wednesday at the Shelley Funeral Chapel in Little Falls, MN and from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. on Thursday at Shelley Funeral Chapel. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Parish Cemetery in Little Falls, MN .Christian Mothers Rosary at 4:30 PM on Wednesday. Elizabeth Angeline Piekarski was born on November 29, 1924 in Culdrum Township, Morrison County, Minnesota to the late Joseph and Sophie (Super) Jelinski. She worked at Munsingwear for 3 years before she was united in marriage to Raphael J. Piekarski on September 4, 1946 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Flensburg, Minnesota. The couple made their home on a farm near Sobieski, where Elizabeth was a full-time homemaker and mother to 8 children, although she did work at Smith Laundry in Little Falls for a couple of years. The couple retired in 1989 and moved to Little Falls. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the Christian Mother’s Group. She enjoyed baking, especially her famous coffee cakes and cookies that she even sold for some time. She also loved to play cards, bingo, and in her younger days dancing. Elizabeth is survived by sons, Melvin (Karen K.) Piekarski of Little Falls, MN; Dennis (Karen A.) Piekarski of Blaine, MN; Gerald (Carol) Piekarski of Little Falls, MN; and Mark (Marie) Piekarski of Motley, MN; daughters, Judy (Roger) Kohler of Pasco, WA; and Janice (David) Stavish of Andover, MN; brother, Leonard Jelinski of Little Falls, MN; 16 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 1 step-grandson, and 3 step-great-grandchildren. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, Raphael J. Piekarski; sons, Kenneth and Bernard Piekarski; parents, Joseph and Sophie Jelinski; sisters, Eleanor DeFoe, Joanna Maciej, and Victoria Dobis; brothers, Edward, Florian, Louis and Lawrence Jelinski. Pallbearers will be Elizabeth’s grandchildren, Amanda Poepke, Andrea Piekarski, Brad Piekarski, Corey Piekarski, John Piekarski, and Justin Kohler.
