Elizabeth "Betty" Wheeler

Elizabeth “Betty” Wheeler, 78 year old resident of Little Falls, MN, passed away on Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at St. Otto’s Care Center in Little Falls. Funeral service will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, November 29, 2014 at the Shelley Funeral Chapel in Little Falls, MN with Father Joe Herzing officiating. Burial will take place in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery north of Little Falls, MN. A visitation will take place from 1-3 P.M. on Saturday at the Shelley Funeral Chapel in Little Falls, MN. Arrangements are pending with Shelley Funeral Chapel in Little Falls. Betty was born on August 14, 1936 in Culdrum Township, Morrison County to the late Alex an Pauline (Witucki) Witt. She grew up in Morrison County where she attended school and graduated from a Country School in Little Falls. Betty was employed as a Nursing Assistant at St. Gabriel’s Hospital. She was united in marriage to Patrick M. Wheeler on January 30, 1982 at Jerry’s Supper Club in Little Falls, MN. Betty loved to dance to Polka and Country Music which is where she met her husband Pat. The couple lived in various places through out their married life while Patrick was serving in the U.S. Military, and they later returned to Little Falls, MN. Betty worked all her life as a caretaker of adults and children and was employed at the Good Shepherd Home in Sauk Rapids, MN. She was employed by various families in her life to care for young children and later did foster care out of her home for young children and adults. Her caring nature made her want to always look after someone and she always put someone else's needs over her own. Betty enjoyed collecting various items with her husband Pat and this hobby helped the two travel to various places to find that treasure they were looking for. She was always a person that made sure everything was neat and tidy and she was always immaculately dressed. Betty will be forever remembered and loved for her caring and compassionate spirit. Betty is survived by husband, Patrick Wheeler of Little Falls, MN; sons, Jeff (Kari) Maciej of Champlin, MN, Greg (Jenny) Maciej of Champlin, MN, and Todd (Renee) Maciej of Little Falls, MN; brother, Jerome (Ann) Witt of Little Falls, MN; and grandchildren, Kimberly, Kenny, Jessica, Jared, Jordan, Mick, Vince, August, Mya. Betty was preceded in death by parents, Alex and Pauline Witt; step-father, Albert Cichon; brother, Daniel Witt; sister, Eleanor Czech & Rose Bobick; and infant brother, Duane Cichon. In Lieu of Flowers memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society.
