Glenda Petrich

Glenda Petrich, 59 year-old resident of Little Falls, passed away January 14th after a courageous battle with cancer at the Harmony House in Little Falls, MN. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Cushing, MN with Bob Mueller officiating. Burial will take place privately at a later date in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery north of Little Falls, MN. A visitation will be held from 9-11 A.M. on Saturday at Bethany Lutheran Church in Cushing, MN. Arrangements are with the Shelley Funeral Chapel in Little Falls, MN. Glenda was born on November 17th, 1955 to Ivan and Pat Petersen in Little Falls, Minnesota. She was raised on her family farm near Randall. She was united in marriage to Donald Petrich on December 14th, 1973. They lived in Randall until moving to Little Falls in 1993. Glenda attended Brainerd Technical College, earning her LPN degree. She worked for 23 years at IWCO Direct in Little Falls. Glenda loved to travel, visiting much of the United States and Europe. She particularly loved warm ocean beaches (and found humor in the irony that she lived in frigid Minnesota). She was a passionate flower gardener and impeccable homemaker, creating and fostering beauty in the details of her home and garden. Glenda was beloved by the many people in her life, including family, friends and coworkers, for her selfless, generous and kind-hearted manner. She was hard-working, yet always quick with a smile. Her greatest honor was being a grandma. She loved her grandkids, spending countless hours with them. She was deeply loved and will be dearly missed. Survivors include her children, Becky (Kerry) Smieja, Staci Petrich (Noah Billig), and Bill (Wendy) Petrich; her grandkids, Ellie, Avery and Charlie Smieja, Evelyn, Elliott and August Billig-Petrich, and Wilson, Adam and Ivan Petrich; her parents, Ivan and Pat Petersen; her siblings, Cheryl (Gary) Andres, Peggy (Pat) Boone, Pam (Randy) Lundgren, and Alan (Darcy) Petersen; and her sister-in-law Marlene Ritzer; and many nieces and nephews. Glenda was preceded in death by her husband Donald and mother-in-law, Elvera Petrich.
