Henry R. Rahn

Henry R. Rahn, 86 year old resident of Little Falls, MN passed away Saturday, March 8, 2014 at his home in Little Falls. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, March 14, 2014 at First Lutheran Church in Little Falls with Pastor David Sperstad officiating. Burial will be at Culdrum Cemetery north of Swanville, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church. Henry R. Rahn was born on April 1, 1927 in Culdrum Township, in Morrison County, Minnesota to the late Charlie and Ottilea (Ganz) Rahn. He grew upon the family farm and attended school not far from home. Henry was united in marriage to Ila Marie Bowen on August 1, 1964 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Swanville, MN. The couple made their home in Little Falls and was blessed with a daughter (Karla) and a son (Steven). Henry and Ila eventually divorced in 1990. Henry then was united in marriage to Ruth Ann Huff on September 3, 1994 at First Lutheran Church in Little Falls, MN. The couple shared their lives together until her passing on February 5, 2003. Henry worked a variety of jobs throughout the years but his favorite was working at St. Gabriel's Hospital in Little Falls until his retirement. In his free time Henry enjoyed attending church, playing cards, collecting pop cans, going to the casino, fishing, doing odd jobs like mowing the grass, Polka dancing, and visiting with family and friends. One of Henry’s greatest joys in life was his children and grandchildren. He spent hours laughing and talking with them about the past. Henry is survived by his ex-wife, Ila (Bowen) Rahn of Little Falls, MN; son, Steven (Wanda) Rahn of Little Falls, MN; daughter, Karla (Rahn) Bollin (Dennis Lease) of Little Falls, MN; sister, Nora Besemann of Little Falls, MN; three grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Henry was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Ruby Loran; brothers Herman Rahn, Alfred Rahn, Arnold Rahn; wife, Ruth Rahn; brother in law, Henry Zoran.
