Irene Britz, 84 year old resident of Morrill, MN passed away Thursday, October 28, 2021 at her home in Morrill, MN. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Morrill, MN with Father Matthew Lanagager officiating. Burial will take place in the St. Joseph's Parish Cemetery in Morrill, MN. A visitation will be held from 4-8 P.M. on Tuesday at the Shelley Funeral Chapel in Pierz, MN and from 10-11 A.M. on Wednesday at the Church in Morrill, MN. Parish prayers will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Tuesday at the Funeral Home in Pierz, MN. Caring for Irene and her family is the Shelley Funeral Chapel in Pierz, MN. Irene was born on June 12, 1937, in St. Cloud, MN to the late Arthur and Rose (Matvick) Brown. She grew up in Lakin Township, Morrison County where she attended school. Irene was united in marriage to Floyd Britz on November 25, 1954, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Morrill, MN. The couple moved to Spring Lake Park, MN where they raised their family and Irene was employed at Old Dutch Potato Chip Factory. She worked there for many years retiring in January of 1993. She was a member of St. Timothy’s Catholic Church in Blaine, MN for many years, later transferring to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Morrill, MN in 2015. In her free time, she enjoyed cooking, dancing, taking trips to the casino and playing cards. Irene was an excellent card player that was an expert at cheating. Her family was most important to her, as she loved family get-togethers with her loving children and many grandchildren. Irene was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. Irene is survived by loving husband, Floyd Britz of Morrill, MN; children, Peter Britz of Spring Lake Park, MN, Duane Britz of Hillman, MN, Robert (Candy) Britz of Coon Rapids, MN, Gerald Britz of Ramsey, MN, Julie (Mark Nelson) Wallum of Wright City, MO, Catherine (Tim) Emmanuel of Shoreview, MN, Kevin Britz of Shoreview, MN and Randy (Kim) Britz of Spring Lake Park, MN; siblings, Patricia Schmidtbauer of Pierz, MN, James (Lou) Brown of Ramey, MN, Judy (Bobby) Matthews of Royalton, MN, John (Bonnie) Brown of Hillman, MN, Rosemary (Donnie) Monson of Hillman, MN, Joan (George) Struffert of Foley, MN and Debbie (Marty) Hoheisel of Hillman, MN; 19 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. Irene was preceded in death by parents, Arthur and Rose Brown; sisters, MaryAnn Byzewski and Chuckie Tomala; brothers, David Brown and Richard Brown; in-laws, Zeno Tomala, Kathleen Brown, Lloyd Byzewski and Don Schmidtbauer and infant sister, Angie Brown.
