Janean Kirgiss

Janean Kirgiss, 80 year old resident of Little Falls, MN, passed away on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at her residence. Join us in celebrating her life at 11 AM on Saturday, November 30, 2019 at Grace Covenant Church in Little Falls, with Reverend Greg Satterberg officiating. Burial will be at a later date at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery north of Little Falls. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 AM Saturday at the church. Janean Margaret Taylor Kirgiss, 80, child of the One True King, was tucked into bed and closed her eyes on the night of Saturday, November 23, 2019. Jesus slipped in beside her and led her gently by the hand into the perfect peace of Heaven. She lived in the Goodness of God. Janean was born on September 16, 1939 in Gary, Indiana to Louis and Josephine Taylor. She grew up in Hobart, Indiana, and met and married the love of her life, Merwyn (Mike) Kirgiss, on December 22, 1957. Janean and Mike began their life together on a farm outside Danube, Minnesota. The family later moved to Little Falls, where they raised their three children. Janean was a devoted wife and mother. She and Mike were active in the ministry of Grace Covenant Church. She was a creative cook and loved arts and crafts. She was a true and faithful friend. She liked to have the things she loved gathered around her, and she held them close. That included her people. When you went in for a hug from her, you expected to be there a long time. Her grandchildren had perfected the technique. When you went in for a conversation . . . you went deep. You expected to get the history and origin of any topic, and her interpretation of it as well. And you appreciated it and were better for it. Despite her gentleness . . . she lived fiercely. She fought constant physical struggles fiercely. She loved fiercely. She prayed fiercely. Family members she is leaving behind include her husband, Mike, brother, Grandall Taylor (Blanca), sister, Dorna Taylor , her children, Dorian (John) Holt, Andrea (Kitch) Lark, and Ross (Michelle) Kirgiss. Janean also leaves behind her four beloved grandchildren, Ryan Holt, Manasseh LaPrairie, Sam and Keane Kirgiss, and two great grandchildren, Gabriel and Zephaniah LaPrairie.
