Janis L. Cogger

Janis L. Cogger, 83 year old resident of Little Falls, MN formerly of Nashwauk, MN passed away April 22, 2026 at the St. Gabriel's Hospital in Little Falls, MN. A celebration of life is being planned for a later date. Caring for Janis and her family is the LeMieur Funeral Home in Little Falls, MN. Janis was born on June 10, 1942, in Grand Rapids, Minnesota, to the late Edward Galbraith and Frances Hudson. She grew up in Goodland, Minnesota, and attended school in Nashwauk, where she graduated from Nashwauk High School. Janis devoted herself to her family and stayed home to raise her children until they were old enough to attend school. She later worked in food service at the school and, in 1982, furthered her education by attending Hibbing Technical College for accounting. Over the years, she worked as the lead cook for all senior meals in Pengilly, Minnesota, and served as the deli manager at the convenience store in Nashwauk. Janis found joy in life’s simple and meaningful pleasures. She loved traveling, especially going on cruises and bus tours with friends. She was an avid gardener and took great pride in canning the fruits of her labor. She also enjoyed reading, playing bingo, doing crosswords and jigsaw puzzles, and feeding and watching the birds. Family was at the center of Janis’s life. Holidays were especially important to her, and she treasured gathering her family together and preparing delicious meals for the major holidays. The Fourth of July was always a special time, often spent at the lake surrounded by her entire family. She will be forever remembered for her strong spirit, can-do attitude, and her wonderful from-scratch cooking, especially her bread, cakes, pickles and cookies. She never backed down from a challenge. Janis also deeply loved the time she spent with her grandchildren, especially when they came to stay with her during the summer for a week at a time. Those memories will be cherished by all who knew and loved her. Janis will be dearly missed and forever remembered by her family and friends. She is survived by daughter, Beth (Dennis Dalquist) Burns of Randall, MN; son, Bradley (Chris) Cogger of FL; grandchildren, Kristin (Jesse) Boessel, Cassandra (Jon) Notsch, Derick Cogger, Kayla Cogger, Lydia Burns, Madi Adcock; great-grandchildren, Kylie and Amelia Boessel, Emma and James Cogger, Millie And Miles Chenoweth; siblings, Arlene Froning, LuAnn Young, Mildred “Mickey” Gault, Dean (Carmen) Galbraith. Janis was preceded in death by parents, Edward and Frances Galbraith; son, David Cogger.
