Jerome "Jerry" Palashewski

Jerome Palashewski, 84 year old former resident of Sobieski, MN, passed away on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at the Country Manor in Sartell, MN. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Sobieski, MN with Father Jimmy Joseph officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. on Saturday at the church in Sobieski. Burial will take place in the St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are with the Shelley Funeral Chapel in Little Falls, MN. Jerome (Jerry) Michael Palashewski was born September 26, 1933 in Swan River Township to the late Paul and Anna (Sobiech) Palashewski. He attended grade school in Sobieski and then Little Falls Community High School. He graduated with the class of 1951. Jerry was united in marriage to Darlyne Sobiech on April 15, 1964 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Flensburg, MN. The couple made their home on his family’s farmstead in Swan River Township, where he carried on the family dairy farm. Jerry loved sports, particularly baseball, where he played and managed teams in the Victory League. He was a fan of local baseball and all Minnesota sports teams, especially the Minnesota Twins. He enjoyed the outdoors and looked forward to trapping and fishing seasons each year, bowling and playing cards with family and friends. Jerry was a lifelong member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, in Sobieski. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Darlyne Palashewski of Sartell, MN; children, Laurie (Rick) Roy of Farmington MN, Greg (Pam) of Clear Lake MN, Scott of St. Cloud, MN and Brian of Burnsville MN; grandchildren, Matt (Jean-Marie) Roy of Portland OR, and Kelsey Roy of Minneapolis MN. Siblings, Joann Zwiener of Sonoma, CA, and Pat Scheeler of Blaine, MN; sisters-in-law, Marlene Palashewski and Joann Palashewski; Darlyne’s siblings and their spouses and many nieces and nephews. Jerry also had a special place in his heart for the Doug and Mary Mielke family, Nick, Nathan, Justin, Jenny and Tyler and their families. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Edward Palashewski, Leonard Palashewski, Dorothy Collianni, Marge Palashewski, Joseph Palashewski, Fred Palashewski, Daniel Palashewski and Mary Palashewski.
