John A. Faust

John A. Faust, 91 year old resident of Little Falls, MN, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 3, 2023, at Highland Senior Living in Little Falls. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, September 29, 2023 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Little Falls, MN. A visitation will take place from 9-10:30 A.M. on Friday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Little Falls, MN. Burial with military honors will take place at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery north of Little Falls, MN. Following the burial at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, a luncheon will be served at Holy Family Catholic Church in Belle Prairie. Caring for John and his family is the Shelley Funeral Chapel of Little Falls. John was born on February 11, 1932, in Dickinson, ND to the late John and Orpha (Laird) Faust. He was united in marriage to Joan Kroll on June 25, 1955, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Royalton, MN. John had a long career in the US Military. First enlisted into the United States Marine Corps in 1950 served in the Korean War for one year and completed his commitment as a Marine Corps drill Instructor. After he was honorably discharged, he joined the Minnesota National Guard in 1957 and served until 1990, retiring as Command Sergeant Major. John had a passion for airplanes, he loved building, flying, and teaching others to fly radio-operated airplanes. He was also an avid Minnesota Vikings fan, if they didn’t win, it was going to be a tough day. John was also a lifetime member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Little Falls, MN. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. John is survived by his wife of 68 years, Joan Faust of Little Falls, MN; sons, Jeff (Carla) Faust of Lino Lakes, MN, Tom (Mary) Faust of St. Paul, MN, Pat (Kelly) Faust of Independence, MN, and John (Donna) Faust of Bellingham, WA; daughters, Faye (Dave) Jordheim of Minneapolis, MN, Lori (Jack) Starr of Chaska, MN, Terri (Brad) Nelson of Edina, MN and Jennifer (Doug) Luick of Prior Lake, MN; 18 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. John was preceded in death by his parents, John & Orpha Faust; brother, Raimon Faust; sister, Orpha Faust and granddaughter, Felicia Faust.
