John Frank

John Frank, age 94, of Sobieski, passed away Sunday, December 21, 2008 at the Lutheran Care Center in Little Falls, MN. A Mass of Christian Burial for John Frank will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday, December 27, 2008 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Sobieski, MN, with Fr. Leo Moenkedick officiating and Fr. Ray Donnay and Fr. Tony Kroll Con-celebrating. Burial will be at St. Stanislaus’ parish cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 PM Friday, December 26 at Shelley Funeral Chapel in Little Falls, MN, and from 9:30 to 10:30 AM Saturday at the church. A Rosary will be prayed at 4:30 PM, followed by a Parish Prayer Service at 7 PM and Knights of Columbus Office of the Dead Service at 7:30 PM Friday. John Frank was born on May 10, 1914 in Shefield, Stark County, N.D. to the late Sebastian and Anna (Klein) Frank. He married Eva Schoch on Nov. 6, 1940 at St. Pius Catholic Church in Shefield, N.D. In 1947, John and Eva moved to Sobieski, MN where together, they operated a farm. While farming most of his life, he also worked part time at Crestliner Boats and as a maintenance man at Camp Ripley. John enjoyed singing ( 60 plus years in his Church Choir), gardening, cutting wood, camping, playing cards, and making his home brew. John is survived by his wife Eva; sons and daughters, Bernard (Suzanne) Frank, Dorothy Frank, and Lydia (Dennis) Zwilling, all of St. Cloud, MN, Edana (Lawrence) Kringen, of Onalaska, WI, Ken (Susan) Frank of Little Falls, MN, Loretta Frank of Minneapolis, MN, Marian (Niel) Braun of Wahpeton, ND, and Michael (Louise) Frank of Flensburg, MN; 3 siblings, Magdalen Barth and Christ Frank of Dickenson, ND, and Rose Binstock of St. Cloud, MN; 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Frank, Steve, Tony, and Joe; sisters, Clementine, Monica, Marian (Sr. Piona SSND), and Margaret.
