Leonard T. Vnuk

Leonard Vnuk, 93 year old resident of Little Falls, MN passed away Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at the Little Falls Care Center in Little Falls, MN. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, July 11, 2016 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Little Falls, MN with Father Matthew Langager officiating. Burial will take place in Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Cemetery in Little Falls, MN. A visitation will be held from 4-8 P.M. on Sunday, July 10, 2016 and from 9:30-10:30 A.M. on Monday at the Shelley Funeral Chapel in Little Falls, MN. Parish prayers will be held at 5:00 P.M. on Sunday followed by Knights of Columbus Office of the Dead at 7:00 P.M. Funeral arrangements are with the Shelley Funeral Chapel in Little Falls, MN. Leonard was born on September 21, 1922 in Flensburg, MN to the late Mike and Stella (Zorn) Vnuk. He grew up in the Flensburg area where he attended Country School. Leonard was united in marriage to Bernice Ginter on November 25, 1947 at St. Thomas Catholic Church in International Falls, MN. He was employed at the Paper Mill in International Falls for several years when they relocated to Little Falls, MN. He then began working at Larson Boats and Pouliot & Design in Little Falls, MN for many years. Leonard was a wonderful caretaker for his wife Bernice for many years. In his free time he enjoyed fishing, camping, and playing cards. Leonard always had a very large garden that he tended to and canned much of the produce he grew. His ability to build and repair things, kept him busy doing various carpentry jobs for friends and family. Leonard stopped regularly at the West Side Café in Little Falls to have coffee and shake dice with his buddies in the morning. He was a long time member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Little Falls, MN and the Knights of Columbus. Leonard was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. Leonard is survived by daughter, Judy (Bob) Newman of Little Falls, MN; grandchildren, Terri Krych, Chris Vnuk, Melanie Vnuk, Michele Newman; great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Taylor, Hannah, Ethan, Autumn; brother, Donald Vnuk of Little Falls, MN; sisters, Marion Senn of Fountain City, WI and Marge (Jim) Schlichting of Cushing, MN. Leonard was preceded in death by parents, Mike and Stella Vnuk; wife, Bernice Vnuk; son, Leonard Vnuk Jr.; grandson, Mark Vnuk; brothers, Gene Vnuk, Frankie Vnuk; and sisters, Eleanor Ringwelski and Esther Kluender.
