Marian J. Brisk

Marian J. Brisk, 95 year old resident of Pierz, MN passed away Monday, October 28, 2019 at the Pierz Villa. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Pierz with Father Kenneth Popp officiating. Burial will be at St. Joseph’s Parish Cemetery in Pierz. Visitation will be Wednesday one hour prior to the service at the church. Marian was born on January 26, 1924, in Melrose, Minnesota, to the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Kolb) Wensmann. Marian was the second oldest of 11 children. She attended country school before graduating from Melrose High School. She married the love of her life, Bernard S. Brisk, from Harding, Minnesota, on April 23, 1960. Marian had a strong faith. She loved her husband and spending time with her and Bernie’s siblings and the many nieces and nephews. Marian put a lot of love into her homes, as Bernie’s work would transfer him around the great state of Minnesota. Upon retirement, they purchased a farm in Pierz, Minnesota. She enjoyed gardening and her handiwork included quilting, knitting, crocheting, sewing, embroidery, counted cross-stitch, and more. She entered some of her handiwork at the County Fair and took first place and decided to enter her quilt into the State Fair. She was known for her wine making, cooking, and baking. She was great in the kitchen. Marian and Bernie looked forward to their weekend square dancing with friends. She enjoyed playing cards, especially the monthly gathering of 500 with her siblings, nieces and nephews. Marian is survived by her husband, Bernie Brisk; siblings, Dorothy Roering and Adolph (Mildred) Wensmann, and many nieces and nephews. Marian was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Elizabeth Wensmann; siblings, Mildred (Paul) Winkles, Marcella (Al) Bueckers, Donald (Rita) Wensmann, Rose (Paul) Steffans, Jerome Wensmann, Herbert Wensmann, (Ben Roering), Veronica (Reinhardt) Smude, and Leroy (Beattie) Wensmann. We would like to thank the caring and compassionate team at Pierz Villa for the wonderful care they provided Marian over the years.
