Mary F. Lange

Mary F. Lange, 94 year old resident of Flensburg, MN passed away Saturday, April 18, 2015, surrounded by her loving family at St. Gabriel’s Hospital in Little Falls, MN. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Flensburg, with a visitation from 9AM to 11 AM Saturday at the church. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Parish Cemetery. Mary Frances Ebnet was born on October 16, 1920 in Krain Township, rural Albany, Minnesota to the late Adam and Theresia (Dullinger) Ebnet. She graduated from Upsala High School in 1938. After graduating, Mary went to St Paul and worked as a nursemaid for wealthy families living on Summit Avenue. She was united in marriage to the love of her life, Lawrence Lange, on June 3, 1947 at St. Francis of Assisi Church in rural Freeport. The couple purchased a farm near Flensburg, where they lived most of their married life. Mary was a longtime member of the Sacred Heart Rosary Sodality and was head of her funeral lunch group for many years. She enjoyed listening to the radio. She loved baseball and was a fan of the Minnesota Twins and the Flensburg Falcons. She spent many hours at the Flensburg Ballpark watching her children and grandchildren play ball. However, she enjoyed all sports. If there was a game on the radio, she would find it! Mary enjoyed baking bread, flower and vegetable gardening, canning her produce, playing cribbage, playing the piano, and most of all family gatherings. Mary was very close to her nieces and nephews and loved them dearly. She was also known to love a beautifully and correctly set table! Mary is survived by sons, Peter (Lorna) Lange of Fort Ripley, MN; Paul (Annette) Lange of Swanville, MN; daughters, Sheila (Scott) Gardner of Flensburg, MN; Margurite Cofell (John Gwost) of Flensburg, MN; grandchildren, Sarah (fiancé Ryan), Greg (Lisa), Brad (Amy), Amber, Mitchell, Ashley (fiancé Dustin), Andrew, Maria (fiancé Brandon), Laura (Ryan), Adam (Jennifer), Emily (Jason), Stephanie (fiancé Mitchell), JonPaul (Samantha), Lucas (fiancé Brooke), Matthew (Michelle), Kate (John), Casey, Nicole (David), and Shannon (Joelle); 19 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Bertha Henderson of St. Cloud, MN; former daughter-in-law, Cindy Lange; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Adam and Theresia Ebnet; husband, Lawrence; son, Charles; sisters, Margaret Liebsch, Cecelia Sonbuchner, Anne Ebnet, Rose Herbes, and Eva Beutz; brothers, Tony, Herman, Richard and Conrad Ebnet; and son-in-law, Greg Zupko.
