Matt Stuckmeyer

Matt M. Stuckmeyer, 86 year old resident of Pierz, MN passed away Sunday, May 27, 2007 at St. Gabriel’s Hospital in Little Falls, MN. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, May 30, 2007 at Saint John Nepomuk Catholic Church in Lastrup, MN with Rev. Gerald Dalseth officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, May 29, 2007 at the Shelley-Virnig Funeral Chapel of Pierz, MN; 4:30 P.M. Christian Mothers; 7:00 P.M. Parish Prayers; 8:00 P.M. Knights of Columbus/American Legion; Visitation one hour prior to mass at the funeral chapel on Wednesday. Arrangements are with the Shelley-Virnig Funeral Chapel in Pierz, MN. Matt was born on January 5, 1921 in Buh Township, Minnesota to Matt and Barbara (Faust) Stuckmayer. He was united in marriage to Edna Schomer on September 7, 1948 at Saint John Nepomuk Catholic Church in Lastrup, Minnesota. The couple worked at the farm from 1948 to 1951 for Frank Tax. They later purchased a farm in Pike Creek Township. In 1954 the couple purchased a farm northeast of Pierz where they farmed until moving to the city of Pierz in 1990. Matt continued working with his son on the farm until his death. He was a member of the American Legion, and a life long member of the Knights of Columbus. Matt enjoyed spending time with his family, grandchildren, and his John Deere tractors. Matt is survived by his wife, Edna of Pierz, MN; sons, Allen Stuckmayer & wife, Jan of Pierz, MN, Robert Stuckmayer & wife, Marylou of Pierz, MN, Gary & wife, Carol of Clear Lake, MN; brothers, Gerald Stuckmayer & wife, Patty, Melvin Stuckmayer & wife, Stella all of Pierz, MN; sisters, Marilyn Flicker of South St. Paul, MN, Janet Schlegel & husband, Joe of Inver Grove Heights, MN, Emma Hoffman of Pierz, MN; grandchildren, Kelly, Melissa, Ryan, Kristi, Brittny, Anna, & Paula; daughter-in-law, Cookie of Pierz, MN. Preceded in death by his parents, Matt & Barbara Stuckmayer; son, Mark Stuckmayer; grandson, Matthew Stuckmayer; brother, Clarence Stuckmayer; sisters, Saraphine Loidolt, Delores Saehr, & Melvina Lust.
