Oscar "Bud" Pearson

Oscar Willard “Bud” Pearson, 83, of Little Falls, MN, died peacefully in his home on Saturday, March 23, after an extended struggle with lung disease. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, March 28, 2019 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Belle Prairie, MN with Father Ben Kociemba officiating. Burial will take place in the Holy Family Parish Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 5-8 P.M. on Wednesday at the Shelley Funeral Chapel in Little Falls, MN and from 10-11 A.M. on Thursday at Holy Family Church in Belle Prairie. A parish prayer service will be held at 6:00 P.M. on Wednesday evening. Funeral arrangements are with the Shelley Funeral Chapel in Little Falls, MN. Bud was born on the family farm in Todd County, MN on June 14, 1935 and was married to Joanne Colombe on July 19, 1956 at Holy Family Church in Belle Prairie, MN. He was a hard worker, first on the Great Lakes ships, then Crestliner Boats and more than 20 years for Land O’Lakes – first in the creamery, then as a wholesale route salesman. He also worked more than ten years for Anderson Custom Processing and, after retirement, part-time work as a groundskeeper for Little Falls School District. Bud thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his friends and family, including morning coffee (West Side Cafe and Coborns), wood carving, ice fishing, caring for his lawn, watching his favorite birds, shooting squirrels out of his bird feeders, and volunteering his time for Linden Hills Gardens and Holy Family Church. He was most proud of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Left behind to smile at the memories are his wife of 62 years, Joanne; children Debra (Brett Nelson) Pearson of Little Falls, MN and Jeff (Kim) Pearson of South Range, WI; grandchildren Kacey (Tim) Stai, Kelsey (Jason) Erdmann, Jeffrey (Becky) Pearson, Laura (Adam) Walen, Sarah Pearson and Mitchell Pearson; great-grandchildren Oskar, Leon, Cassidy, Izaiah, Leander, and twin girls Althea and Magnolia; brothers, Vern Pearson of Little Falls, MN, Dave (Joanie) Pearson of Pillager, MN, Lyle (Marie) Pearson of Brainerd and Donnie (Alice) Pearson of Long Prairie, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Ida Pearson; brothers, Lloyd and Paul; granddaughter, Aja Maurer; nephew, Larry; as well as many other loved ones and extended family over the years.
