Paul Ripplinger

Paul Ripplinger, 76 year old resident of Holdingford, MN passed away Friday, September 23, 2011 at Mother of Mercy Nursing Home in Albany, MN after a long battle with PSP (Progressive Supranuclear Palsy). Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, September 30, 2011 at Church of All Saints on River Street formerly St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Holdingford, MN with Father Mark Stang officiating. Burial will be held in the Parish Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 P.M on Thursday and from 9:30-10:30 A.M. on Friday at the Church. Parish Prayers will be prayed at 5 P.M. and Knights of Colombus along with St. Joseph’s Society will be at 7P.M. on Thursday at the Church. Funeral arrangements are with the Shelley Funeral Chapel. Paul was born on April 9, 1935 in Trail City, SD to the late Thomas and Mary (Meier) Ripplinger. He was united in marriage to Lucille Vos on May 25, 1957 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Holdingford, MN. Paul was a life long member of the Knights of Columbus and St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Holdingford, MN. He served on the Elmdale Township board for over 30 years and also the Upsala Creamery Board for many years. Paul gave his time generously to the church where he was a trustee at St. Mary’s in Holdingford. He enjoyed playing cards and attending his children and grandchildren’s ball games. Paul was greatly loved and will be dearly missed. Paul is survived by wife of 54 years Lucille (Vos) Ripplinger; sons, Keith (Teresa), Steven (JoAnn), Kevin (Sheila), Paul (Susie), Myron (Kristy), Matthew (Rhonda), Nathan (Laura); daughters, Gail (Arnold) Barthel, Lynn (Joey) Langner, Karen (Dan) Murphy, Joan (Pete) Boeckermann, Mary (Ken) Sowada, Martha (Bruce) Baggenstoss, and Carol (Kevin) Lampert; brothers, Leo and Jim Ripplinger; sisters, Alvina Mader, Elaine Gerads, Bernice (Ernie) Skwira, and Mary Kostreba; 76 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. Paul is preceded in death by parents, Thomas and Mary Ripplinger; brothers and sisters, Michael, Helen, Alois, Julia Shabel, Frank, Barbara Schurman, Joe, Kathryn Kortenbusch; 3 infant grandchildren, Nicole, Emily, & Grace, and several brothers-in-law.
