Phyllis (Moody) Werkman

Phyllis (Moody) Werkman, 90 year old resident of Little Falls, MN, passed away on Sunday, October 27, 2019 at St. Gabriel’s Hospital in Little Falls. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 PM on Friday, November 1, 2019 at the Shelley Funeral Chapel in Little Falls. Burial will take place in Fairfax, MN at a later date. Phyllis Nina (Moody) Werkman was born April 24, 1929 in Fairfax, MN to the late Wellington and Anna (Roetsch) Fanjoy. She attended school in Fairfax and graduated in 1947. Phyllis worked at Schaffer's grocery store and Shriners Hospital. She also managed both of the 4&19 Cafe and Mileage Cafe. In 1975, Phyllis moved to Little Falls and married Eldon Werkman. She enjoyed wintering in Tucson, AZ. During her winters, she enjoyed working at Old Tucson. Her favorite job was working at Dollar Car Rental, where she enjoyed driving rental vehicles back and forth to California. Phyllis was a woman of MANY hobbies. She was a beautiful painter, though she would tell everyone she would prefer acrylic over watercolor. She enjoyed crocheting blankets, dishcloths and beautiful table cloths. One of her other favorite pastimes was making porcelain dolls. Phyllis also cherished spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She would flood them with stories of her father working with the Ringling Brothers Circus, her many trips in Arizona and time growing up with her sisters and brother. Over the years, she was involved with many affiliations: Eagles, Shriners, Little Falls Legion Auxiliary and Randall VFW Auxiliary. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Gary Fanjoy of Little Falls, Mn, Melody (Robert) Walsh of Clearwater, FL, and Nina (Chet) Vukelich of Little Falls, MN; grandchildren, Isaiah Fanjoy, Brock Fanjoy, Missy Shaleen, Sarah (Chad) Zeien, Sam (Jackie) Walsh, Kasey Vukelich, Cory (Alicia) Vukelich, and Ashley Seely; 14 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, Eldon Werkman; parents, Wellington and Anna (Roetsch) Fanjoy; sisters, Beatrice Young and Inez Keinholz; brother, Luvern "Rocky" Fanjoy; brothers-in-law, Joseph Young and Donald Keinholz; sister-in-law, Carol Fanjoy, and great-grandchild Cody Vukelich.
