RALPH B. BRITZ, 83 year old resident of Pierz, MN passed away Monday, February 4, 2008 at St. Gabriel’s Hospital in Little Falls. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, February 7, 2008 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Pierz, MN with Father Gerald Dalseth officiating. Burial will be at St. Joseph’s Parish Cemetery in Pierz. A visitation will be held from 4 to 8 PM on Wednesday, February 6th at the Shelley-Virnig Funeral Chapel in Pierz and from 9 to 10 AM on Thursday at the funeral chapel in Pierz. A Rosary will be prayed at 4:30 PM, followed by Parish Prayers at 6:45 PM on Wednesday at the Shelley-Virnig Funeral Chapel in Pierz. Ralph B. Britz was born on March 13, 1924 in Lastrup, Minnesota to the late Henry & Laurentia Britz. Ralph married Regina Motschke on May 29, 1947 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Buckman, MN. They farmed near Lastrup, MN until 1983, when they moved to Pierz, MN to retire. He worked at Burlington Northern Railroad from 1952 to 1974. Ralph very much enjoyed outdoor activities, especially hunting and fishing. His other passion was making tamarack swings for friends and family. He loved family; especially his grandchildren, family related events, and spending time on the farm. Ralph was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Pierz, MN. Ralph is survived by his wife, Regina (Motschke) Britz of Pierz, MN; sons, Ken (Cathy) Britz of St. Peter, MN, Bob (Paula) Britz of Shakopee, MN, Jerry (Pat) Britz of St. Cloud, MN, Dan (Roxanne) Britz of Vadnais Height, MN, Greg (Carmen) Britz of Azle, TX, and Dave (Bridget) Britz of Lastrup, MN; daughter, Lynn (Gary) Gadacz of Elk River, MN; sister, Kay Kasper of Brighton, MI. Ralph is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Laurentia Britz; brothers, Alfred, Earl, David, Herman, and Paul Britz; and granddaughter, Amy Britz.
