Rose Schlichting

Rose Schlichting, 96 year old resident of Little Falls, MN passed away Sunday, December 23, 2007 at St. Otto’s Care Center in Little Falls, MN. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, December 28, 2007 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Little Falls with Father Nicholas Landsberger officiating. A visitation will be held from 10 to 11 AM on Friday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Parish Cemetery in Little Falls. Christian Mother’s will pray the rosary at 10: 40 A.M. on Friday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Arrangements are with the Shelley Funeral Chapel in Little Falls, MN. Rose was born on October 12, 1911 in Canby, Minnesota to the late Bolas and Anna (Parulski) Sik. She came to Bowlus, MN in 1928 to work in her sisters hotel. Rose was united in marriage to Joseph Schlichting in Bowlus, MN on November 5, 1929. The couple farmed in Two Rivers Township until 1978 when they retired to Little Falls, MN. Joseph died on November 17, 1993. In December of 2001 Rose moved to St. Otto’s Care Center in Little Falls, MN. She was a great hostess and always treated her guests to a meal and her home baked bread. Rose was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Little Falls and a member of the Christian Mothers Group. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Rose is survived by her daughter, Dolores (Dave) Colombe of Little Falls, MN; grandchildren, Richard (Malinda) Heinz of Randall, MN, Donald Heinz of Flensburg, MN, Joyce Heinz of Annandale, MN, Audrey (Curt) Pantzke of Randall, MN, Cindy (Scott) Baldwin of Randall, MN, Linda (Rodney) Brenner of St. Cloud, MN, Becky (Brad) Luberts of St. Cloud, MN, Debbie (Ryan) Remer of Richfield, MN, Lloyd (Stephanie) Adamski of Granite Falls, WA, Jerry (Annie) Adamski of Randall, MN, Judy Janey (Steve Christle) of Royalton, MN, Susan (Carl) Davis of Boise, ID, Deanna Heinz of Randall, MN, and Peggy (Mike) Kuchinski of Little Falls, MN;daughter-in-law, Mary Schlichting of Sauk Rapids, MN; long time friend, Agnes Walberg; 30 great grandchildren, 13 great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Rose is preceded in death by parents; husband, Joseph Schlichting; daughter, Theresa Heinz; son, Joseph Schlichting Jr.; three grandsons, two great grandsons, and one great-great granddaughter; eight sisters and four brothers.
