Roy A. Majaski

Roy A. Majaski, a resident of Upsala, Mn. and Mesa, Az, formerly of Royalton, Mn, died January 12, 2009. Funeral services and burial were held Friday at Upsala Community Covenant Church with Pastor Craig Johnson officiating. Roy was born May 19, 1930 in Duluth, Mn. He was united in marriage to Genevieve Bell Brown January 15, 1949 in Duluth, Mn. The couple moved around in their younger years and eventually settled in Royalton, Mn where they raised their children and built their own business. After their children were grown they retired and moved to Pine Lake near Upsala where they resided during the summer months and spent their winters in Arizona. In his younger years Roy liked to snowmobile, fish and hunt. He was a member of the Minnesota National Guard. He was the director of industries at St. Cloud reformatory for many years. Roy spent several years serving as a volunteer fire fighter and EMT in Royalton. He was CEO and owner of Majaski's Machine Shop, Inc. in Royalton. He loved his family and friends. He enjoyed camping, traveling, golfing, 4-wheeling, woodworking, reading, playing Texas hold 'em poker, squaredancing, Bluegrass festivals and his G-scale trains. He was a member of ABTO (Arizona Big Train Operators). He was a silversmith and made many beautiful pieces of jewelry. He was an active member of Upsala Community Covenant Church and Co-Chairman of Pioneer Park Community Church in Phoenix, AZ. He also enjoyed dressing in character according to the role of various community functions. Roy is survived by his wife Genevieve. Three sons, Timothy (MaryAnn); Keith (Marge); and Alan (Marie) all of Royalton, Mn. Four daughters, RoxAnn (Bob) Fliflet of Buffalo Lake, Mn; Brenda (Donald) Bonebrake of Little Falls, Mn; Pamela (Gary) Allord of Little Falls, Mn; and Tina (Chris) Ginter of Little Falls, Mn. One brother, Jack (Nancy) of Duluth, Mn. Three sisters, Constance (Mike) Nimigean of Palm Dale, Ca; Pat Mooney of Los Angelos, Ca; and Chris (Jack) Tuttle of Duluth, Mn. 16 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren with one on the way. Pallbearers were his nine grandsons, Craig, Charles, Brian, and Roger Majaski, Mike and James Bonebrake, Kyle Easter, Adam Ginter, and Jordan Maland. Memorials can be given to Unity Family Hospice or Upsala Community Covenant Church.
