Sharon L Schubert

Sharon L. Schubert, 73 year old resident of Little Falls, MN passed away Thursday, April 16, 2015 at her home. A private service will be held on April 24, 2015. On April 16, 2015 our beloved Sharon L. Schubert, wife, mother, sister, aunt, cousin, and grandmother to Mia, Grace, and Shadow met our heavenly Father. She was welcomed home by her father, William Veiko Halonen; mother, Sylvia Loretta McLain Halonen; and sister, Sandra Graves. Sharon was born on January 17, 1942 in St. Paul, Minnesota. She was the eldest child of Bill and Sylvia. She had one sister, Sandy, and three brothers, Steven, Samuel, and Stewart. She grew up in Sandstone, Minnesota, graduating with the Sandstone Panthers Class of 1959. She attended Humbolt Institution in Minneapolis, learning the skills needed to become an airline ticketing agent. When I asked “why did you work for the phone company for 26 years?” she replied, “they called first”. In July of 1960, she married her childhood sweetheart, Johnnie L. Schubert. In 1964, they had a daughter, Kristine, followed by a son, John-John in 1968. Together, John and Sharon built two beautiful homes from the ground up. Loving almost every minute of it. Sharon worked for Northwestern Bell in Cloquet, then transferring to Duluth, when the company became AT&T, she then transferred to St. Cloud, Minnesota where she traveled the United States training employees on customer service and sales. In 1989, she retired at the age of 48, with 23 years in with the telephone company. Sharon and John took many trips on their motorcycle around the United States and Canada. When signs of aging set in, the motorcycle was traded for a RV. For 17 years, they spent the winter months at Lake Havasu, California and summer months at Long Lake in Swanville and Little Falls. During Sharon’s 25 years of retirement, she enjoyed playing guitar, singing, saunas, her friends and family, happy hour, fishing, healing touch, quilting, crafts, animals, traveling, spending time at the lake, bon fires, and did I mention happy hour? Sharon is survived by loving husband of 55 years, John; daughter, Kristine; son, John; brothers, Steven, Samuel, and Stuart. She is in our hearts forever and is now home. P.S. please warm up the TV for her program at noon, “Days of Our Loves”. Something she mastered so beautifully and gracefully.
