Funeral arrangements are with the Shelley Funeral Chapel in Little Falls, MN. Thomas was born on July 29, 1951 in Owatonna, MN to Carrie (Grass) and the late Robert Jacobsen. He grew up in Owatonna, MN during his early years and later moved to the Twin Cities where he graduated from Robbinsdale High School with the class of 1970. After graduation Tom enlisted into the United States Army, serving in two tours during the Vietnam War. He did his basic training at Fort Leonard Wood Army base in Missouri before getting deployed to Long Binh, Vietnam. Tom completed his military service at Fort Carson in Colorado Springs, CO where he was honorably discharged in 1976. He was a recipient of the Bronze Star, Purple Heart, Presidential Citation, Unit Citation, Good Conduct Citation, Vietnam Service Medal and many more. He was united in marriage to Eleanor Rebischke on September 24, 1988 at Zion Lutheran Church in Little Falls, MN. Tom was employed at Sally Distribution and later was employed at Falls Fabricating from where he retired in 2007. In his free time he enjoyed working with computers and drawing with charcoal and pastels. He also had a passion for photography; he would edit photos and make videos of his photos. Tom was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Little Falls, MN and the Disabled American Veterans (D.A.V.). Tom is survived by wife, Eleanor Jacobsen of Little Falls, MN; mother, Carrie Jacobsen of Elk River, MN; son, Daniel Jacobsen of Crystal, MN; daughters, Melissa (Jared) Williams of Cokato, MN, Elizabeth Jacobsen of Little Falls, MN, and Amanda (Brian Weyers) Jacobsen of Little Falls, MN; biological son, Gregory Adam (Leah) Petersen of Charles Town, WV; sisters, Roberta (Greg) Petersen of Princeton, MN, Pamla (James) McPherson of Milwaukee, WI, and Laura (Stephen) Petersen of Elk River, MN; grandchildren, Mercedes Lemke, Dylan Lemke, and Dustyn Williams; and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Tom was preceded in death by father, Robert Jacobsen; and sister, Virginia Muckey; and nephew, Jason Petersen.
