Virgil Tembreull, 84, of Pierz, MN, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 29, 2024 at the Harmony House in Pierz, MN. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:30 A.M. on Thursday, January 9, 2025 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Pierz, MN with Father Aaron Nett officiating. Burial will take place in the St. Joseph Parish Cemetery in Pierz, MN. A visitation will be held from 9-11 A.M. on Thursday, January 9, 2025 at the Shelley Funeral Chapel in Pierz, MN. Caring for Virgil and his family is the LeMieur Funeral Home in Pierz, MN. Virgil was born on August 31, 1940, in Pierz, MN, to the late Anton and Ann (Peine) Tembreull. Virgil spent his entire life in the same cherished home where he grew up. He was a proud graduate of Pierz Memorial High School, Class of 1958, Virgil embraced a lifelong career as a dedicated dairy farmer. He poured his heart into the family farm, which became a legacy he proudly passed on to his sons, Dennis and Paul, in 2009. On November 9, 1969, Virgil married the love of his life, Bernadette Pawlu, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Pierz, MN. Together, they built a life filled with love and hard work. Virgil enjoyed simple pleasures, such as car rides and four-wheeler outings to admire the area's crops, and, in his later years, day trips to the casino. He found great joy in attending auctions and cherished every moment spent with his children and grandchildren. Virgil will be remembered as a lifelong farmer, a devoted husband, a loving father, and a proud grandfather. His unwavering commitment to family, farming, and his community will leave a lasting legacy. Virgil is survived by his wife, Bernadette; sons, Dennis Tembreull of Pierz, MN and Paul (Lewella) Tembreull of Ft. Ripley, MN; grandchildren, Wyatt (Lauren Schmidt) Tembreull, Abrielle (Taite Grossman) Tembreull and Kyla (Ben Hanauer) Tembreull; sister, Mary Ann Meyer of Little Falls, MN and sister-in-law, Virginia Tembreull. He is preceded in death by his parents, Anton and Ann Tembreull; siblings, Joseph (Eva) Tembreull, Cletus (Cleora) Tembreull, Ardell Tembreull, and Clifford Tembreull and brother-in-law, Cleo Meyer.
