Wade M. Murray

Wade “Bud” M. Murray, 93 year old resident of Little Falls, MN (formerly of Brainerd, MN) passed away Thursday, July 16, 2015 at Highland Senior Living in Little Falls, MN. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, July 20, 2015 at the Shelley Funeral Chapel in Little Falls with Chaplain James Neppl officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Brainerd, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Monday at the Shelley Funeral Chapel. Military Rites will be conducted by the Brainerd VFW Post # 1647 & American Legion Post #255. Wade was born on April 14, 1922 in Fargo, North Dakota to Wade Hampton Murray and Grace M. (McIntyre) Murray. He was united in marriage to Gladys A. Adams in 1942 in Fargo, North Dakota. Wade served in the Army Air Corps , US 9th Air Force during World War II from October 31, 1942 through December 8, 1945. Wade worked various sales positions, owned and operated a roller rink, and sold real estate. He enjoyed dancing, hunting, fixing electronics, and spending time with family and friends. Wade is survived by his loving companion of 35 years, Marcella “Sally” H. Schmidt of Little Falls, MN; daughters, Paula J. Murray of Brainerd, MN, Gail A. (John) Clark of Aurora, CO; sister, Jean Murray of Brainerd, MN; Wade’s 3 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; Sally’s son, Dale L. (Norma) Schmidt; Sally’s daughters, Linda M. (Daniel) Mielke, Rhonda K. (David) Mielke, Brenda L. (Steven) Klein; Sally’s 7 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Wade was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys A. Murray on September 8, 1978. Active Bearers are grandsons, Carl Jacobi, Kevin Wendlandt, Bradley Schmidt, Lee Mielke, Christopher Sonju, Bob Mielke, Jeff Leno, and Miah Snesrud. The family would like to extend our warmest thanks to all of the wonderful staff at Highland Senior Living for all the compassionate care Wade received over the years while living at Highland. We would also like to thank St. Croix Hospice who provided such incredible personal and caring attention to Wade in the final days of his journey and also helping our family through this difficult time.
