Wayne Fankhauser

Wayne A. Fankhauser, 76 year old resident of Little Falls, MN formerly of Carlisle, PA, passed away August 2, 2007 at St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Brainerd. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, August 6, 2007 at the Camp Ripley Chapel inside the gates of Camp Ripley with Rev. Grant Speece officiating. Burial will take place at a later date at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery north of Little Falls. Military Rites will be conducted by the Little Falls American Legion Post #46. A visitation will be held from 4 to 7 PM on Sunday, August 5th at the Shelley Funeral Chapel in Little Falls and from 1 to 2 PM on Monday at the Camp Ripley Chapel. Wayne A. Fankhauser was born on December 2, 1930 in North Braddock, Pennsylvania to the late John & Rena (Moore) Fankhauser. He was united in marriage to Inge Davidson on June 26, 1999 at the Camp Ripley Chapel inside Camp Ripley. Wayne enjoyed traveling, fishing, bird watching and gardening. He enjoyed spending hours on the computer doing research and communicating. He was recently certified by the FCC as a ham radio operator. Wayne was retired from the Airforce and enjoyed keeping up with the latest military news. Wayne was a member of the Little Falls American Legion Post #46. He also belonged to the TAC Missileers. Wayne’s spent the last eight years of his life married to the love of his life, Inge. They cherished every minute they had together. Punki his cat was very special to him. Wayne was survived by his wife, Inge (Davidson) Fankhauser of Little Falls, MN; daughters, Ingrid Olson of Greenbush, MN and Sandra (Carl) Chapman of New Bloomfield, PA; step-daughters, Candy (Steve) Bumbaugh of Carlisle, PA, Joan (John) Behsman of Swanville, MN, Rona (Mark) Bleess of Long Prairie, MN, Shirley (Nathan) Stelling of Osakis, MN, Ardie Davidson of Opole, MN and Bev (Gene) Warzecha of Holdingford, MN; special cousin, Warren (Annabell) Callaway of PA; sisters, Barbara (Richard) Jaloma of Whittier, CA, Faith (Rocky) Free of Traverse City, MI; 20 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents; grandparents and step-son, Richard Davidson. Pallbearers will be Jerry Hanson, David Zumberge, Jim Ambuhl, Mark Bleess, Gene Warzecha and Dustin Stanoch.
