Armella Prokott

Armella M. Prokott, 82 year old resident of the Pierz Villa in Pierz, MN passed away Tuesday, November 27, 2007 at the Pierz Villa. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, November 30, 2007 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Buckman, MN with Father Gerald Dalseth officiating. Burial will be in St. Michael’s Parish Cemetery in Buckman. A visitation will be held from 4 to 8 PM on Thursday, November 29th at the Shelley-Virnig Funeral Chapel in Pierz and from 9:30 to 10:30 AM on Friday at the church. Christian Mothers Rosary at 4:30 PM followed by Parish Prayers at 5:30 PM and Knights of Columbus, Office of the Dead at 7:30 PM, Thursday at the Shelley-Virnig Funeral Chapel in Pierz. Armella M. Prokott was born on October 29, 1925 in Pierz Township, Morrison County, Minnesota to the late Joseph & Anna (Bednar) Janski. She attended Country School District #99. She was united in marriage to John Prokott on November 6, 1944. The lived west of Buckman, MN for a few years. The couple then purchased Armella’s parent’s farm and moved east of Buckman. They farmed until 1970, then built a home near Little Falls. Armella worked at St. Gabriel’s Hospital as a cook in the dietary department from 1972, retiring in 1988. In 2001, Armella and John moved into the Harmony House of Pierz where they lived happily for over 3 years. In April 2007, she moved to the Pierz Villa in Pierz. Armella was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Buckman, MN, a long time member of St. Michael’s Christian Mothers and St. Michael’s Catholic Aid of Buckman, MN. She enjoyed visiting and cooking for family and friends, playing cards, crocheting, sewing quilts, growing flowers and vegetable gardening. She was well known for her ready smile, generosity, wonderful cooking and especially her snacks. Armella is survived by her daughters, Joyce Biewer and husband, Don of Barnsville, MN; Gladys Brixius & husband, John of Pierz, MN; Grandchildren Sheila (Mitch) Branden, Gary (Sharon) Biewer, David Biewer, Mari (Jed) Peterson, Shari (Jesse) Grabow, Mike Brixius, Karen Johnson, Tony Brixius and Steve Brixius; 12 great-grandchildren; brothers, Ambrose and wife, Louise Janski of Pierz, MN, Joey and wife, Ellen Janski of Sauk Rapids, MN; sisters, Irene Koll of Little Falls, MN, Frieda Bernard and husband, Alban of Minneapolis, MN, Odelia and husband, Cyril Kustermann of St. Cloud, MN. Armella was preceded in death by her husband, John Prokott; parents, Joseph and Anna Janski; Brothers, Lawrence Janski, Clem Janski, Lampert Janski and great-granddaughter, Cambree Grabow.
