Arthur "Art" P. Rudek

Arthur P. Rudek, 80 year old resident of Little Falls, MN passed away Friday, May 9, 2014 at St. Gabriel’s Hospital in Little Falls. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, May 16, 2014 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Belle Prairie, MN with Father Nicholas Landsberger officiating. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery in Little Falls, Visitation will be from 5 to 8 PM on Thursday and from 10 to 11 AM on Friday at Holy Family Catholic Church in Belle Prairie, MN. Parish Prayers will be prayed at 7 PM on Thursday at the church. Arthur “Art” Rudek was born on May 24, 1933 in Parker Township, Morrison County, MN to the late Paul and Eleanor (Riedner) Rudek. His family lived in Randall until 1943, when they moved to a farm SE of Little Falls. Art was united in marriage to Bernie Copa on August 25, 1952. The couple later divorced. He later married Jean Tiede on Oct. 18, 1969. Art was known to be a go-getter, he liked to accomplish something on his list every day. His career began at the Koroll Shoe Store and ended at Metalcraft as a roofer. He always joked he started at the bottom and ended at the top. As he retired, he still continued to be on the go all the time. He found a passion and talent for making unique items out of wood. This hobby evolved into a small business called Arts Woodworking Specialties. He also made time to work at the Clark station and later on at the EZ Stop where he had the opportunity to enjoy the customers that routinely stopped in. Art loved people, loved good humor and an occasional trip to the Casino. He enjoyed maintaining a beautiful garden, really green grass in the yard and keeping it trimmed to perfection. Most of all, Art loved his family & friends. It gave him great joy to help other people in need.. He will be greatly missed by the friends and family that had an opportunity to be a part of his life. Art is survived by his son, John (Sandy) Rudek of Little Falls, MN; 2 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren (with number 6 due in August); brother, Lawrence (Lavina) Rudek of Dilworth, MN; sisters, Margaret May and Dolores (Bill) Kay; sisters-in-law, Marilyn Rudek Kirschbaum and Delores Rudek, all of Little Falls, MN. Art was preceded in death by his parents, Paul & Eleanor Rudek; loving wife, Jean Rudek; brothers, Edward Rudek, Donald Rudek, George Rudek, Robert Rudek & Kenneth Rudek; sisters, Elaine Hennings and Loretta Kilanowski; special friend, Corrine Ringwelski. Pallbearers will be Kris Rudek, Aaron Reinhart, Jim May, Rich May, Jim Carlson and Dennis Bentke.
