Barbara Gustafson 56 year old resident of Herman, MN formerly of Little Falls, MN passed away Friday, October 25, 2013 at her home in Herman, MN surrounded by her loving family. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, November 1, 2013 at the Shelley Funeral Chapel in Little Falls, MN. Barbara (Barbie) was born May 4, 1957, in Little Falls, MN to Alexia Ploof and Donald Gerjets. She spent her childhood in Denver, CO and eventually returned to Little Falls. While working in Little Falls at Paul’s Bar she met Steven Gustafson (Gussy) who swept her off of her feet and was married to the love of her life December 6, 1976. Shortly after marriage they began a family and were blessed with three very loving daughters. She spent thirty years in a job she loved, working for Coborn’s and Hallmark, cherishing many valued friendships and touching many lives upon her retirement in June 2013. Barbie’s infectious smile and bubbly personality captured many hearts and will be deeply missed by all. There are many activities that she loved to partake including but not limited to: Antiquing, reading, bowling, fishing, camping, volleyball, BINGO night with the girls, softball and winning the Women’s State Championship with Little Falls Granite Works in 1980. She also enjoyed many cups of coffee over conversation with friends and family. Barbie also loved taking trips to Mexico and to Wisconsin to see the Elvis impersonators at the “Elvis Explosion”. Above all she loved her grandchildren and spending every loving minute with them, even Skippy. Barbara Gustafson is survived by her husband, Steven; step father, Marvin Waite, of Little Falls; daughters, Stephanie Gustafson, of Randall; Melissa (Benny) Waskosky, of Browerville; Michelle (Adam) Hanson, of Hancock; grandchildren, Taylor, Carter, Silas and River. Sister, Patty (Paul) Skinner, of Arvada, CO; brothers; Johnny Gerjets, of Columbus,OH, Dan Gerjets, of North Carolina, and Mike (Kathy) Gerjets, of Mount Airy, MD. She was preceded in death by her grandparents Herbert (Cecelia) Ploof; mother Alexia Waite; father Donald Gerjets; father and mother in-law Donald (Sherry) Gustafson and many close friends and relatives.
