Barbara A. Gosiak

Barbara Ann Gosiak 53 year old resident of rural Little Falls, MN passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at her home surrounded by family, after fighting a long courageous battle with cancer. A memorial mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30A.M on Saturday, November 19, 2011 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Little Falls with Father Mark Innocenti and Father Mike Kellogg officiating. Burial will be at St. Stanislaus Catholic Cemetery in Bowlus, MN. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM on Friday, November 18th at the Shelley Funeral Chapel in Little Falls and one hour prior to service on Saturday at the church. Parish Prayers will be prayed at 6 PM on Friday at the funeral chapel. Barbara was born on August 26, 1958 in Little Falls, Minnesota to Bernice (Krystosek) and the late John Sobania. She grew up in the Holdingford-Opole area and graduated from Holdingford High School. She was united in marriage to Edward Gosiak on September 15, 1979 at St. Edwards Catholic Church in Elmdale, MN. The couple made their home in Swan River Township, where they raised 6 children on their farm. Barbara enjoyed bird watching, gardening, relaxing by the backyard fire ring, playing cards with her mom, picking wild mushrooms, and canning her own produce. She also loved spending time with family, especially her 8 grandchildren. Barbara was currently employed at Viking Industries, where she has been an employee for the past 15 years. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 32 years Edward A. Gosiak of Little Falls; children, Sheila (Curt) Venske of Little Falls, Shelly (Chris) Witucki of Little Falls, Lisa (James) Houdek of Little Falls, Kimberly Gosiak of Avon, Allen Gosiak of Little Falls, and Miranda Gosiak of Little Falls; grandchildren, Cameron, Mikayla, Lucas, Hunter, Breanna, Katelyn, Ashlyn, and Madison; mother, Bernice Sobania of Bowlus; sisters, Kathy (George) Kalis of Elmdale, Laverne (Ron) Justin of Rice and Jackie (Doug) Wolbeck of Elmdale; brothers, Pat (Diane) Sobania of Bowlus, Claude (Linda) Sobania of Bowlus, Ambrose (Dalora) Sobania of Cold Spring and Marvin (Julie) Sobania of Bowlus; mother and father in-law, Martha and Ambrose Gosiak of Bowlus; many in-laws, nieces, and nephews. Barbara was preceded into death by her father, John Sobania; infant brother, Francis Sobania; great-niece, Samantha Colbert; brother-in-laws, Donald and Ambrose Jr. Gosiak; sister-in-laws, Jane Klisch and Diane Czech. Honorary Pallbearers will be Barb’s grandchildren.
