Dale F. Jones

Dale Jones 84 year old resident of Randall, MN passed away Monday, February 9, 2015 at the VA Medical Center in St. Cloud, MN. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, February 13, 2015 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Cushing, MN with Bob Mueller officiating. Burial will take place at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery north of Little Falls, MN. A visitation will be held from 5-7 P.M. on Thursday and from 10-11 A.M on Friday at Bethany Lutheran Church in Cushing, MN. Funeral arrangements are with the Shelley Funeral Chapel in Little Falls, MN. Dale was born on June 1, 1930 in Randall, MN to the late Frank and Alice (Hendrickson) Jones. He grew up and attended school in Randall, MN and graduated from Little Falls High School with the Class of 1947. After graduation Dale enlisted into the U.S. Navy in September of 1948. He served his country proudly over seas and was honorably discharged in September of 1949. Dale was united in marriage to Marion Harrington on January 27, 1951 at the Randall Presbyterian Church in Randall, MN. The couple made their home in Randall most of their married life. Dale was a cement mason building swimming pools in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area and sold Christmas trees in California and Edina, MN. He retired from Olympic Pools in 1995. He enjoyed playing cards, cribbage, deer hunting, fishing, making fishing decoys and having three generations of family visiting him. Dale was a member of the Randall VFW and also enjoyed going to auctions, watching Vikings football games, Day of Our Lives, western movies, and The Andy Griffith Show. Dale is survived by sons, Douglas (Rhonda) Jones of White Bear Lake, MN, Steven (Valerie) Jones of Baxter, MN, Curtis (Tisa) Jones of White Bear Lake, MN; daughter, Sherry (Jeffrey) Nelson of Minnetonka, MN; 6 grandchildren, Adam, Trevor, Bryant, Daniel, Ross, and Alissa; 6 great-grandchildren, Brendan, Isla, Victoria, Anastasia, Avery, and Abigail; and sister, Lois (Herman) Johannes of Little Falls, MN. Dale was preceded in death by wife, Marion Jones and parents, Frank and Alice Jones. In Lieu of Flowers, Memorials Are Preferred.
