Dolores B. Preimesberger

The City of Genola's Oldest Resident, and last remaining former business owner, icon, Dolores (Bieganek) Preimesberger, passed away peacefully, per her wishes, at home on June 6, 2026, with family by her side, at the age of 97. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, June 12, 2026, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Pierz, at 11:00 A.M., with Rev. Aaron Nett and Father Kenneth Popp officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00-10:30 A.M., at the LeMieur Funeral Home in Pierz, on Friday, June 12, 2026. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Caring for Dolores and her family is the LeMieur Funeral Home in Pierz. Dolores was born on September 9, 1928 at home in Harding, MN, to the late Joseph E. and Rose (Deering) Bieganek. She graduated from Saint Francis High School in 1946. Dolores married Henry Preimesberger, Jr. on May 30, 1950, at Holy Cross Church in Harding. Dolores was a beloved wife for 69 years, devoted mother of 13 children, and a cherished grandmother whose quiet strength, generous spirit, and deep love for her family left an indelible mark on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She was also a faithful Christian who depended on God as she walked through life with Him. Her devout faith was shown by the way she served and cared for others, along with being a prayer warrior on a daily basis. Dolores was a woman known for her other titles, too, that included: homemaker, co-owner of and bookkeeper at Preimesberger Lumber, co-owner of Preimesberger Arena, which held many local and state horseshoe tournaments and the World Horseshoe Tournament in 1981. In addition, she was Postmistress of Genola Post Office and the City Clerk and County Assessor for the city of Genola. She didn’t stop there. With her 4 sisters, they developed and published the Bieganek family cookbook, "Any Fool Can Cook If They Can Read". Dolores also had the honor of being the Grand Marshal in the city of Genola’s 1st annual parade in 2024. Left to cherish her memory are her loving children: Nora, Lois, JoAnn (Bob), Zeno (Joyce), Tom (Jackie), Iris (Joe), Joe (partner Tamera), Mary (John), June, John (Darlene), and Dan (Gitu); 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Dolores is also survived by her sister, Rita. Dolores was preceded in death by her husband, Henry; sons, Henry John III and Jason; son-in-law Bruce; grandson Aaron; parents; and 13 siblings. The family would also like to thank her special neighbors, Larry & Jo Korf, Kenny & Diane Hohesiel, Kurt & Joelle Lucking, for their regular visits, companionship, and love to our mother; Fr. Aaron, Fr. Popp, Deacon Leo, and Deacon Craig for their spiritual guidance; and Horizon Health Hospice staff for their tender and professional care.
