Donald Felix

Donald J. Felix, 88 year old resident of Little Falls, MN passed away Sunday, March 4, 2012 at his home in Little Falls, MN. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at Holy Family Catholic Church, Belle Prairie with Father Mark Innocenti officiating. Burial will take place in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, north of Little Falls, MN. Friends may call from 10-11 A.M. on Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at Holy Family Catholic Church. Donald J. Felix was born on October 29, 1923, as a young man Don grew up in Little Falls and graduated from the Little Falls High School in 1941. He enlisted in the Navy November 21, 1942 as a sonar man on the USS Reuben James, and the USS Tarawa. He was honorably discharged as an electrician mate 2nd Class on January 25, 1946. Don married his High School sweetheart Dotty Enke at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Little Falls, MN on September 30, 1946. He joined the Minnesota National Guard in 1948, and in 1962 Don earned his Masters License as an electrician. He was employed at the former Hennepin Paper Company as head electrician for 35 years. Don was a former member of the Little Falls Exchange Club, American Legion Post #46 and is a current member of the Little Falls VFW Post #1112. He enjoyed spending time with his wife at the North Shore and vacationing with friends along the Gulf Coast. Don also liked golfing, bowling, boating, and playing dice with the guys at Big John’s on the west side. He especially enjoyed having dinner with his friends. Don was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church for many years. He is survived by his son, David Felix of Little Falls, MN; daughter, Dana Robinson of Little Falls, MN; 4 grandsons, Dustin (Lori) Robinson of Pierz, MN, Dean (Yvette) Robinson of Long Prairie, MN , DJay (Amanda) Robinson of Little Falls, and Matt (Jessica) Felix of Tampa, FL;12 great–grandchildren; and 1 great great-grandchild. Don was preceded in death by his wife Dotty; mother, Mary (Kasper) Felix and 2 brothers, Roderick and Kenneth (Pat) Felix. Honorary Casketbearers are Dustin Robinson, Dean Robinson, DJay Robinson, and Matt Felix.
