Doris A. Harrison

Doris A. Harrison 86 year old resident of Little Falls, passed away Wednesday (Sept 19) at St. Otto’s Care Center in Little Falls. Funeral services for Doris A. Harrison will be held Monday at 11 AM at the Little Falls Alliance Church with Rev. Phil Ronzheimer officiating. Burial will be in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 4-7 PM at the Shelley Funeral Chapel in Little Falls and Monday from 10-11 AM at the Little Falls Alliance Church. Arrangements are with the Shelley Funeral Chapel in Little Falls. Doris was born June 24, 1926 in Cushing Township, Morrison County, MN, the daughter of the late Jens and Mary ‘Warinner' Anderson. She grew up in Cushing Township and attended country school through the eighth grade. Doris then attended and graduated from Little Falls High School. Upon completing her schooling, she worked for Bell Telephone in Little Falls as a telephone operator for two years. Doris was united in marriage to Henry Harrison on March 24, 1946 at the Cushing Baptist Church in Cushing, MN. The couple lived in Buffalo, MN for one year and then returned to Little Falls. She soon became mom and devoted her time to raising three children. In 1972, she returned to work as a cook at Lincoln Elementary School in Little Falls. After 17 years, Doris retired in 1989. She enjoyed playing the organ and piano. She loved to decorate her home according to the season of the year and also visit with family and friends over lunch or coffee. Doris was a faithful member of the Little Falls Alliance Church where she was always involved with a Bible Study group. Doris A. Harrison is survived by her sons, James ‘Patty’ Harrison of Rice, MN and Thomas ‘Linda’ Harrison of Woodbury, MN; daughter, Beverly ‘Larry’ Clark of Centerville, IA; sisters, Catherine Eckblad of Little Falls, MN and Arlene Nelson of Grand Rapids, MN; grandchildren, Ryan, Brett, Derek and Nick Harrison, Melissa Kjendle, Michelle Bottema and Michael Harrison and 9 great-grandchildren. Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Harrison (2000); parents, brothers, Art, Albert & Duane Anderson; sisters, Ruth Garrison and Lila Anderson. Honorary Casketbearer will be Derek Harrison Casketbearers will be Ryan, Brett, Nick and Michael Harrison, Steve Beseman and Roger Wolters.
