Floyd M. Britz, 93 year old resident of Morrill, MN passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2026 at his home. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, June 26, 2026 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Morrill, MN with Father Matthew Lanagager officiating. Burial will take place in the St. Joseph's Parish Cemetery in Morrill, MN. Visitation will be held from 4-8 P.M. on Thursday, June 25, 2026 and from 10-11 A.M. on Friday, June 26, 2026 all at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Morrill, MN. Caring for Floyd and his family is the LeMieur Funeral Home in Little Falls, MN. Floyd was born on February 10, 1933, in Foley, Minnesota, to the late Peter and Mathilda (Popp) Britz. He grew up in Morrill, Minnesota, and attended the B12 Country School. On November 25, 1954, Floyd was united in marriage to the love of his life, Irene Brown, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Morrill. Following their marriage, Floyd and Irene made their home in Spring Lake Park, Minnesota, where they raised their family. Floyd dedicated many years of service to the Spring Lake Park School District, working in the maintenance department. Known for his strong work ethic and dependable nature, he took great pride in caring for the school facilities and retired in 1991 after a long career. Floyd and Irene were longtime members of St. Timothy's Catholic Church in Blaine before returning to Morrill, where they became members of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. In his free time, Floyd enjoyed gardening, woodworking, putting together puzzles, and spending time outdoors mowing lawn. He was an excellent card player and cherished the many games shared with family and friends over the years. More than anything, Floyd loved his family. He looked forward to family gatherings and treasured every opportunity to spend time with his children, grandchildren, and extended family. Blessed with a friendly and welcoming personality, Floyd never met a stranger. His warm smile, easy conversation, and genuine interest in others left a lasting impression on everyone he met. Floyd was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He is survived by children, Duane Britz of Hillman, MN, Robert (Candy) Britz of Coon Rapids, MN, Julie (Mark) Nelson of Wright City, MO, Catherine Emmanuel of Shoreview, MN, Kevin Britz of Shoreview, MN, and Randy (Kimberly) Britz of Spring Lake Park, MN; 18 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren. Floyd was preceded in death by parents, Peter and Mathilda Britz; wife, Irene Britz; children, Peter Britz and Gerald Britz; son-in-law, Tim Emmanuel; siblings, Ervin Britz, Wilfred Britz, Rev. Francis Britz, Willie Britz, Evelyn Hortsch and Larry Britz.
