Irene Schwartz

Irene B. Schwartz, 57 year old resident of Little Falls, MN, passed away Tuesday (Jan. 8) at St. Joseph Hospital in St. Paul, MN with family at her side. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, January 12, 2008 at Shelley Funeral Chapel in Little Falls with Pastor Gregg Valentine officiating. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery in Harding, MN. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM on Friday, January 11th, and from 9 to 10 AM on Saturday at the Shelley Funeral Chapel in Little Falls. Irene B. Schwartz was born December 10, 1950 in Little Falls, MN to the late Felix and Erma (Volker) Kowalzek. She grew up in the Harding area and later moved to Little Falls. Irene was united in marriage to Donald E. Schwartz and the couple resided in Little Falls. She was a waitress and bartender in various locations in the area. Irene enjoyed spending time with her family. She also enjoyed gardening, baking, bingo, listening to Walter play his music, and visiting with friends at the Little Falls Senior Center. Irene B. Schwartz is survived by companion Walter Monson of Little Falls; daughters, Pam (Steve Scherping) Holtslander (Block) of Little Falls, Amy (Corey Holtslander) Kohl (Block) of Little Falls, Charlotte (Tom Aldrich) Schwartz of St. Cloud, MN, Linda Schwartz of Little Falls and Ashley (Cory Ritter) Schwartz of Little Falls; son, Ronnie (Missy) Block of Little Falls; brothers, Jerome (Erna Mae) Kowalzek of Lino Lakes, MN, Delroy (Barney) Kowalzek of Pierz, MN, Larry (Iris) Kowalzek of Pierz, David Kowalzek (Nancy) of Fort Ripley, and Gary (Brenda) Kowalzek of Coon Rapids, MN; sister, Lois (John Stanley) Hoheisel (Kowalzek) of Pierz, MN; sister-in-law, Sylvia Kowalzek of Pierz, and 12 grandchildren. Irene was preceded in death by her parents, Felix and Erma Kowalzek; husband, Donald E. Schwartz; brothers, Alvin Kowalzek, Roger Kowalzek of Pierz, and sister-in-law, Shirley Kowalzek of Pierz. Honorary casketbearers will be Lane Holtslander and Hailey Allord. Active casketbearers will be Bryan Maleski, Joshua Maleski, Gregory Kohl Jr., Wayne Monson Sr., Darell Monson, and Tom Aldrich.
